I replaced a circa 2007 Siemens AFCI with this newer combination AFCI. The old AFCI would always trip when a transfer switch was used to change from LINE power to GENERATOR power. I have learned that some of the older AFCI's are not very tolerant of the less than pristine power produced by a generator thereby causing it to trip. Since I swapped out the old AFCI and replaced it with this combination AFCI I have not experienced any false trips while running on generator power. Installation is straight forward, just be sure to cut all power to your service panel before attempting.

Did what some others happened to do - search in disgust not finding a comparable replacement when it came to a GE box - no GE does NOT manufacture Arc-Fault Breakers for the 'mini style' breaker boxes. After frustrating searches I had found this option and once here checking around for it also found reviewers with same claim - will work in a GE mini. Gave it a try - AND - the result - it fits right - it works right - it never trips ! As another had suggested - do search and choose the right one ... my box being of 20 yrs in service needed the 'pigtail' for neutral - make sure which u have. IF current breakers have only 'hot blacks' attached - they use seperate neutrals (whites to a bar similar to grounds) - need the 'pigtail'. ALSO found Siemens does carry a 'dual circuit' arc breaker in their arsenal which takes up 'same space' as this 'single circuit' arc breaker that takes 2 mini spaces. Of course its double the cost - but its double the value IF u need to make space or running out of it. This breaker is at the top in quality and do recommend their products - for what they verify it will fit AND for what I verify it will fit. * AS for 'trip kick offs* - IF u run into constant trips - there is an issue - dont go n install a larger rated breaker - get some help n find the problem - its NOT the breaker !
