Micro tuner unit runs a little hot but well ventilated. Used for tracking aircraft via ADSB - does a great job.

The kit looks fine for the Stratux DIY ADS-B.

Firstly they arrived today and they were easy to swap out for my two station ADS-B project I have been working on. I recently have been working with 'virtual radar' and it's really good. I have 2 old raspberry Pi's (a Mk1 and a Mk2 ) and was using Dump1090 as the feeds. I had built my own antennas specifically for the 1090MHz reception so I cannot comment on the antennas as yet. The moment I connected them I was receiving signals over 200% of the distance I was previously receiving. Amazing! For the price for two SDR's alone in such a small form factor is worth the purchase alone. With regards to the comments about "heating up", I'm certainly not finding any thermal condition that is causing me any concern. A good quality product.

Der Empfänger wird bei mir als Stratux verwendet und ich bin sehr zufrieden mit der Leistung. Sowohl der Flarm als auch ADS-B Empfang ist sehr zufriedenstellend in Bezug auf Reichweite und Zuverlässigkeit.

I am putting together another Stratux box. It was nice to get the radios already calibrated. The radios do not plug in to the Pi side by side because the cases are a little large. I took the cases off, which probably allows a little better heat dissipation too. I don’t need both sets of antennas, but the kit was a lot cheaper than buying everything individually.

Si scaldano moltissimo ! Addirittura una ha fuso la plastica di supporto del connettore USB. Continua a funzionare, ma non so dire se la qualità di ricezione sia rimasta invariata. Consigliato un cavetto di prolunga per distanziarle dal PC / Raspberry.

I bought this kit to build a Stratux ADSB-In device for my vintage PA28. While priced a bit higher than I would have liked, I was pleasantly surprised when I had to contact support months after the Amazon return period had closed. One of the antennas turned out to be defective, so I emailed the vendor, and within a week Tasha had gotten me a replacement antenna to my door. The unit works well now, and despite the SDRs getting quite hot, the Swiss cheese style case I made is able to keep processor temperatures around 60°C without active cooling. I'm happy.
