Works great for Gaming if you can work with 1000dpi
I bought two of these for two of my children that really abuse their mice while gaming. Why did I buy this particular mouse? Well I purchased one about 3 or 4 years ago at a store and it was severely abused and it still functions today. The older mouse that was abused is not perfect now but worked like a champion for the 3 to 4 years that it was in constant use. Like I mentioned, it still works. That mouse was used by a young gamer that mashed it over and over until it was not suffice as a gaming mouse any longer. The two new mice have been in use for 6 months now and have performed flawlessly. This is a great mouse for everyday use and for the abuse of a gamer. I have to remind my kids to stop smashing the mouse on their desk when they are mad at their game. It may not have all the bells and whistles that some of the other gaming mice have but this one keeps on ticking. It is literally a workhorse and really inexpensive. The only issue I could see using it as a gaming mouse is it is only 1000dpi. Thanks for reading my review and I hope it helps

So far, so good! (Year one update: still going strong!)
This is my third mouse in recent memory, the first having died after nine years of service and the second having started to right click whenever I left clicked, casting it into early retirement. The second mouse was a Logitech and while I could have purchased that same mouse again due to its low price, I was also interested in looking for a mouse that might offer a little more longevity before acting up. What drew me to this mouse was the fact that several reviews mention its durability. One review stated that this mouse was used by their children to play high-intensity computer games and withstood that abuse for a lot longer than other mice, which I'm hoping means this mouse will have a nice lifespan, much like my first mouse (though to be sure, I'm not expecting 9 years of use, but like two or three would be nice). Now, I don't really play games on my computer, so I'm hoping that my daily clicking on things will make this mouse last. The immediate perks: ✩ Low price point! I got mine for about $10. It's more pricey than my last mouse, which was about $6, but I'm hoping the higher price point makes for a more durable piece of equipment. ✩ The left and right buttons have a much clearer separation in the mouse's construction, so I'm hoping that, even when this starts to wear, that it won't wear in the same way and won't have the same problem as my last mouse (right clicking randomly as I'm trying to left click) ✩ It's comfortable in the hand! Now, this model is wider and flatter than my previous mouse. It doesn't rise up to meet the hand in a well-rounded way, but is more squat and wide, so I think this would accommodate bigger or wider hands a little better than a slimmer or taller mouse. I do personally prefer the slimmer, rounded, taller shape that contours to my palm more closely, but this mouse isn't so different that I can't use it just as comfortably. ✩ The scroll wheel isn't slippery, but it also doesn't have a stiff clicking kind of mechanism. It's tight enough that you have control over the speed of the scroll without babying it, but it's also fluid enough to only make a gentle sound when used and not be strenuous on your hand. The immediate downsides: ✗ As stated above, it's a little more pricey than some other very good mice ✗ The shape has the potential to be too wide or low for some hands, especially smaller hands. ✗ It's not as rounded, which doesn't feel as nice. It's not awful, but the edges are more boxy than a lot of other mice. ✗ The #1 worst thing was that for whatever reason, this mouse likes to cause a high pitch whine in my headphones when it's moved if the USB cable isn't inserted just so. I didn't catch the source of the sound at first because I have tinnitus, but I did realize that I only hear the whine when I moved my mouse and after multiple tests with different headphones and then going back to my old mouse, I concluded that this particular mouse somehow can cause disruptions. I don't know if my USB port or the USB plug on my mouse have any defects or whatever, but this is something to keep in mind. I have to have this mouse plugged into the USB on the front of my tower so that if the noise comes back, I have easy access to it to wiggle it and unplug it to make the sound stop. That's about it! I've been using it daily for a few weeks and outside of the noise and shape, there's been nothing worth note to complain about. I'll routinely update this review as time goes on to document its longevity in the life of someone who spends most of their day at the computer doing general clicking with a mouse. If all goes well, the update will come in 6+ months, but if anything bad happens before then, I will update my review at that time.

I Like HP Mice, Durable and Solid Little Performers
Just like the one that came with my laptop. Works like a charm. Right click button, left click button and smooth and fast center scroll wheel. Not too big, not too small and comfortable to use. They last forever. If I could change anything it would be the cord. While sturdy I really don't need a 6 foot cord on my mouse. Or is it 4 feet? Anyway, it's a long cord that I l always have to wrap with a cable tie to keep my 5 foot desk more organized. Not a big deal for me and the quality and longevity of the item is worth a cord that's a bit too long for my own personal use. Yes, I would buy it again.

Decent performer in my opinion. Large size is not for everyone.
Had two of these so far. One of them I purchased in November 2019, and that one lasted until I had to purchase another mouse on August 2021 (email receipts from HP store and amazon allowed me to keep track). Now it is September 2023, and my current mouse is ready to be replaced with a new one. I expect this model of mouse to last around two years. Both mouse were needed to be replaced because of the physical buttons starting to have issues (particularly the left button causing double clicking or not registering clicks consistently). These issues only occurred after two years of use, not throughout my usage of them. Two years of solid and consistent performance (under heavy usage too) is more than I can ask for at this price (paid $11 - $13 each). Beware of the size of the mouse, however. Seems a little larger than average.

Solid Performing Mouse for Mostly Anything.
Originally bought this mouse as a fast and cheap alternative for a more expensive Logitech mouse that decided to die on me after only a year of moderate use. I wasn't expecting much since I'm used to spending several times more on fancy gaming mice with all of the dpi and rgb lighting that comes along with them. To my surprise, it's been a great performer for the past two years I've had it. For your typical tasks and such you aren't sacrificing anything buying this mouse over the other more expensive options out there. The only thing the mouse lags behind a little in is gaming due to the lower dpi. This is only going to be significant if you're playing competitive multiplayer games or some twitch shooter. It'll perform just fine in anything else.

I had been buying Logitech mouse from beginning, but in the past few years, I was really getting disappointed with their quality. They used to become faulty very soon. So, this time I decided to try a mouse from another company, and I am glad I did. HP make quality laptops, and so I decided to for an HP mouse, and I wasn't disappointed. It's been more than an year, and the mouse continues to work great. The cord length is long, which is good for my usage, as I use it for a desktop. The size might appear a bit big, but its good to use. Initially, the clicking noise sounded a bit loud, but it's fine later on. I really like the mouse, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a budget mouse. Works great!
