Good, but will rust on you so prepare it first.
For what these are, they are quite expensive. In saying that, it does the job well. The only downside is that after two years, my original one rusted solid so the barrel wouldn't turn. It isn't the best quality, but I do live about 100ft from the sea. When installing, I packed it full of molybdenum grease to stop this happening again. Remember, you won't be using this much so it may happen to you also. Another thing I had to do when installing was to pack out the back of my garage door with wooden blocks to give some reinforcement to the back of the door once the whole is cut, then pass the attaching screws through them. Overall, I bought another one so that should tell you it works and I am happy with it.

Locked it place
Fitted this product without diffficulty Could do with a escutcheon cover and external finish is so so. However it locks and does the job.

Good quality looks like it will last
Easy to install seems good quality but I’ve put some copper slip in the barrel and over the key slot to stop water ingress and potential corrosion.

Necessary but overpriced
If you don't have any other entrance/exit to your garage than the main door, you must have one of these in case your opener fails. This fulfils this role, as it is designed to do, but why is it so expensive for a fairly basic lock, two bolts, a length of cord and a few ties? It isn't exactly the height of sophistication.

Good emergency override in event of power failure
Easy to install in the same location of the existing keyhole Takes just a few minutes to screw in and connect to the emergency release cord and works without issue

Good product bought as a replacement for a seized unit
Good product bought as a replacement for a seized unit. Well made and easy to fit. Certainly worth the money

does the job
A metal hole drill makes fitting a lot easier. It does what it should do. Key better than a lot of other spade type keys.
