An excellent mouse, with a few trip-ups.
If you're here, it's because you scouted out many different mice through reviewers like Rocket Jump Ninja and JoshTechBytes on YouTube, read through overclock.net or /r/MouseReview threads, or just peeked into Amazon's mouse market and stumbled on this. This is an excellent mouse - but there are a few details to be aware of that can make or break your decision to purchase this or another competitive mouse. The PMW3360 is pretty much the best sensor on the market at the time of writing. The implementation is great. Lift off distance is low, and I can't find any issue with how the sensor is, especially after updating the firmware. There are preset DPI steps that may be changed with software in increments of 100. Both firmware and software are available on Nixeus's website and are optional, since this mouse is meant to work out of the box. I have 18.7 x 10.4 cm hands. The shape, balance, and weight is a HUGE step up from the Deathadder 3G I had played on for 8 years. The slope is very gradual, and the sides give my 1-2-2 grip a lot of space and a slight ledge to assist in picking up without any slipping. I can palm or claw it, but the hump doesn't really fill out the palm fully - it makes contact and provides support, but it is not a full feeling. I am totally fine with this, but others may prefer a full fill, or a lower profile (see: Zowie ZA/Ninox Venator, or FK for the respective hump profiles). My preferred grip style is now fingertip, surprisingly. The mouse is lightweight and precise enough for it, and the shape allows for that sort of versatility. The clicks and buttons are very tactile and tight. No issues on my matte white copy. The cord is light and flexible. The scroll wheel is tactile and bumpy, which may take getting used to. There is different tension between the scroll up and down. I personally prefer smoother scrolling, so this irritated me a little. It's workable, but I hope that Nixeus considers a different approach to scroll wheels in the future. I'm not a mouse enthusiast, and I wasn't expecting my socks to be blown off by this mouse - but it is a very solid choice, and conveniently less pricey than other solid choices. Other mice to consider include the Steelseries Sensei, Ninox Venator, Zowie ZA/FK series, and maybe the Logitech G Pro/102/203. Those all have ambidextrous form factors, but different pros and cons to them. Overall, I'm very pleased with this mouse, and have no issue using this as a replacement for my Deathadder.

REVEL my go to mouse for e-sports
This mouse is great and is a good replacement for a Wheel Mouse Optical, Intellimouse Optical 1.1a, Sensei/Kana/Kinzu. Their customer service is also very fast and they are helpful. I contacted Nixeus and they told me that Amazon has both old and new batches. So if people are experiencing build quality problems they probably got unlucky and Amazon gave them one of the older batches. This mouse has a good shape and has a nice sensor. The clicks feel great and the scroll wheel is nice, but it rattles a little. Not a huge problem to me, but the scroll is louder than my G203. The side buttons also have a short travel and are very light to click. I like that the side buttons are further back. Nixeus also has a firmware updater and they are working on software to customize the mouse. I like that the shape of the mouse is more rounded and smooth unlike the DM1 Pro S or the Sensei. The curve on the Sensei/DM1 is more rigid and sharp. The Revel also feels slightly less bulky and not as wide. It is the closes you will get to a replacement for one of the older Ambidextrous Microsoft Mice. I got unlucky and got one of the older batches and Nixeus support told me that they have used different switches for the middle mouse wheel in their newest batch. The MMB on mine was not very tactile, but more a more mushy feeling, and the click was very quiet. My friend who has a REVEL had their middle mouse more tactile and a louder click. I am sending mine back to Nixeus instead of Amazon so that I can make sure to get one from the newest batch. If you have problems with your REVEL, their customer support will gladly help you fast and easy. Overall I love this mouse and it is the perfect shape.

Good performance, decent mouse.
There's a lot that's not perfect about the revel, but not much I didn't already expect having followed its production and viewing feedback on it for some time. If you know what you're buying has X problem, you shouldn't dock it for having X problem. What I didn't know is that the side buttons aren't just bad.. they are BAD. And even if you get a Revel that doesn't have QC issues with the left and right mouse buttons, the left and right mouse buttons will still always feel a bit inconsistent because of the way the mouse shell is designed supposedly. If you're like me, when you first get this mouse you'll start laughing because it feels so cheap that it's legitimately funny; but make no mistake, it has killer performance with the 3360, a very low input delay, a shape many love, and a price point that I wouldn't say is a "good deal", but is simply very appropriate when you consider its shortcomings. If you liked your glossy finish mice in the past, the glossy coat on this one is very nice as well. You'll just have to clean it pretty regularly because even the cleanest person leaves a surprising amount of gunk on these things. Edit: Middle mouse button is double or even triple clicking. No excuse for that, knocked down two stars. Edit 2: Nixeus responded to my review offering "help with any further issues", but considering I have failing hardware there's not any help I could use aside from a replacement. I noticed they seem to respond to everyone with a negative review, and if they infer by your review date that your warranty is up, they don't offer you a replacement in their response. Well that rubbed me the wrong way because I felt it was just virtue signalling to reply to these people they weren't going to help.. so I emailed them and asked if a replacement was what they were implying they could do for me since that's the only thing they could actually help me with, and what do you know, they offered me one even though my warranty was over years ago. I didn't follow up and have it done because the sensei shape doesn't agree with me anyway, but I was very glad to see that they have some nice folks over there. Bumped my review up a star for that.

This mouse feels like the perfect replacement to my aging intelimouse 3.0. Seeing as my IME is still working fine I wasn't really looking to replace it yet, but the price point of this mouse really impressed me. Now that I've had the time to play and get used to it it really feels like a big upgrade for me. The sensor is flawless, so much so that it makes my aim feel smoother, you just can't make it malfunction (7 meters/sec max speed). The feel of the mouse is decent and didn't take much getting used to coming from using Microsoft's WMO and IME 3.0. Initially the right click did feel a little hollow as some are suggesting, I also felt the tug of the mouse feet for a while too, but since using it these issues have subsided. It now feels incredibly smooth on my mouse mat (better even than my IME with hyperglides). The mouse is also fairly light and feels good in the hand. (I personally palm grip) and the cable is very soft and flexible, it doesn't catch on the mousepad and feels unobtrusive. The dpi steps can get a little superfluous - going up to 12000 - as I personally used to play at 400dpi but have since upped to 800. (As a humourous test I had my girlfriend try to navigate the desktop at 12000dpi. It's an almost impossible task!) The colour of the LED is dependent on the current DPI step (red 400, green 800, blue 1200, yellow 1600, pink/purple 2000, cyan 3200, orange 5000 and white 12000) so it doesn't quite offer the customisable RGB colour options that other mice do. A small note would be that the effective CPI is actually a bit higher than what it is reported to be. 400cpi is actually 420 so a little bit of maths is needed to get your sensitivity calculated properly). Overall I am very impressed with the product. It's a mouse with a great shape and a perfect sensor. If the shape and the price are right for you then I would definitely recommend this mouse.
