Oral-B Pro 2000 Toothbrush
I am not one for going to the dentist. I am terrified. I always feel they are going to do something bad, especially as my regular toothbrush doesn't seem to do much. But after a friend of mine told me about Oral-B electric toothbrushes I thought I would have a look. Wow sorry this almost sounds like a commercial where I'm following a poorly written script and trying to shove a product in your face. Actually I'm trying to describe it as best I can. I like this toothbrush a lot. Sad I know. Maybe it means I've become a boring old adult now. But there is something to like in this. 1. It really does clean your teeth well. Now I had problems with tartar build up etc on my teeth. My bottom teeth particularly looked stained and yellowy. However, after extensive use of this toothbrush, brushing twice a day, my teeth after just 2 weeks were showing signs of improving! I was astounded! And after over 1 year of using this brush (obviously changing the heads every 3-4months) I can safely say it has worked a treat and the dentist says my teeth look great! 2. For those of you with sensitive teeth or dentures, it has a sensitive setting, which is achieved by pressing the power button twice. This makes the brush slightly less powerful and allows you to clean your teeth without worry. I don't have sensitive teeth but it seems t be a hell of a difference from the regular setting and a lot less harsh which is great. 3. It's easy to use. Yes I know. A toothbrush that's easy to use! Bloody hell! But seriously, some of the product descriptions on higher end brushed left me feeling a little dazed as to what it actually did and if it actually cleaned my teeth. This brush is simple. End of. 4. The pressure sensor is really handy. I used to brush my teeth so hard my toothbrush would end up flat after around 3 months, same as my dads. But this brush comes with a red LED sensor on the back which flashes very brightly when you press too hard. This puts much less pressure on your teeth and gums and makes for a much more pleasant brushing experience. So without all the awful advert like jargon, it really is a nice brush. Not too expensive and easy to use. It's very satisfying!

True fresh from the dentist feel!
I've had an electric toothbrush for a few years now. I had the Oral B Professional Care 7000 brush, now I have the Oral B Pro 2 2000N brush. I am impressed! My original brush was great when I first got it, it really did give a fresh from the dentist feel. Two things affected that though. Mostly was the fact the battery (NiMh) lost its grunt. The other was that I bought third party brush heads as the oral b ones are a rip off! This new brush has a lithium ion battery so I am hopeful it will retain its full power. The cross action brush head that comes with it seems very good to me. It actually really does feel like it is getting in all the gaps! My teeth also do feel again like I have just been to the dentist, like my old brush when it was new. Let's hope this continues and isn't just because it is a new electric toothbrush with a new brush head. I do find the brush feels quite aggressive at first, so I apply virtually no pressure when brushing. I'm being careful not to hurt or recede my gums. I have however found the brush more comfortable after a week or two as the bristles soften a little. This time I have plugged my toothbrush into a timer plug so it gets an hour's charge every day rather than charging all the time. Although apparently the toothbrush does have an over charge prevention mechanism. I'm buying oral b brushes again as the third party ones kept coming off during brushing, the rotating head part would also loosen and lose its effectiveness, and the bristles would quickly lose their stiffness. I still think oral b brushes are way over priced, but I'd rather pay a little more than have ineffective brushes that save a few quid. I'll update this review if I have problems but so far I think the electric toothbrush is excellent! By the way, as far as I understand from the oral b website, this model and those above it are essentially the same motor and battery, you just get extra unnecessary gimmicks for a LOT of extra money!

A good toothbrush.
I'm very happy with my purchase! Put simply, it's a very effective toothbrush that cleans very well. The head isn't so big that you need a flip top head, nor is it so small that you need to spend ages on each tooth. It has a timer which allows for four periods of thirty seconds. You can, obviously carry on beyond those times. There are two mode settings for this brush. One is the normal setting to clean your teeth (continuous speed). The second seeing has been, apparently, designed for "gum care" and consists of a repeating pulsing of speed. There is a clearly visible red light that illuminates if you apply too much pressure when brushing. The brush heads have a decent lifespan with normal use. On average I would say that ours last around three months before requiring a replacement head. The replacement brush heads, compared to other makes and models, are reasonably also priced (at the time of writing, about £11 for four). The battery life will give you approximately seven or so days use before needing too be recharged. And with that, comes the only negative that I've found. They are unbelievably slow to recharge! They can easily take 20+ hours to fully charge! It's for that one reason alone that I've not rated this product with the full five stars. Otherwise, a good buy that I'd happily recommend to others.

Excellent value for a top quality electric toothbrush
I've been using this toothbrush for over a year now and can confirm it was a great buy! I take my oral hygiene very seriously after having braces for 3 years and use this at least twice daily combined with regular flossing, using mouthwash twice daily and use of interdental brushes. Personally I think this model is more than adequate for anyone - the main purpose of the toothbrush is (of course) to keep your teeth clean and any more expensive models add little else to make the steeper price truly worthwhile. The battery stays charged for at least a week and I find I only need to charge it every 2-3 weeks. The only feature that took me a while to accustom to was the red flashing light on the neck of the brush which flashes brightly when you brush too hard, but over time I've slowly learned to brush my teeth with less unnecessary pressure, which I wasn't so aware of before. I've been able to replace the head with any of my older Oral-B ones from my previous electric toothbrush, not just the expensive CrossAction ones (which may not be to everyone's preference). This brush was a great buy and I'm glad I found it for such a fair price on Amazon! My previous Oral-B brush lasted 7 years before wearing out, so I'm hoping this will last just as long. I feel they're a worthwhile investment in your oral hygiene and truly make a big difference in how clean your teeth look and feel. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to invest in a high quality but affordable electric toothbrush!

Oral B pro 2000 is so much BETTER than a manual brush - I felt the difference less than one week in!
The Oral b pro 200 is so much better than a manual brush. I felt the difference in less than 1 week using the pro 2000. As for charging out of the box, mine took about 27 hours to charge fully (quite a long time, so remember to keep the charge topped up). The manual recommends brushing for 2 mins for the brush's battery to last 7 days before requiring a recharge - I felt 2 mins is a little short (for me). So I brushed for around 3 and half mins for "super squeeky clean set of teeth". *Remember - brushing for more than 2 minutes may require the brush to be charged more frequently rather than every 5-7 days as you are using more power from the internal battery. As for the brush heads, I also purchased a pack of Oral B Pro Trizone heads which are just like a manual brush but the bristles move side to side and give a great clean. I like these heads more. I only used the 1 included CrossAction once before switching over. The brush also has a pressure sensor if you brush too hard the red light eliminates to remind you to back off. It also features a "gum care" mode which is nothing more than a gimmick really, all that mode does is basically "low, high, low, high every second". I only use the daily clean mode. So far so good, it's a good buy. * I saw the same brush on sale for £24 on Amazon Prime a few days ago. (I paid £30 at the time). So look around on here!

The best Electric Toothbrush i have ever purchased
I purchased this toothbrush while on offer, but it is well worth the money even at full price. In four days of use this it has removed staining, plaque and built up tartar. The 2500 is exactly the same toothbrush as the 2000 the only difference is the fact you get a travel case and the handle is black. This cost less than half of what i paid for my previous Colgate electric brush, and is far superior. It takes 22 hours to initially charge the battery but it can be placed on the charging unit after each brushing to keep it at maximum performance, it can not be over charged, however they recommend fully discharging the battery every 6 months. If you have a shaver socket in your bathroom there is no downside to this toothbrush, but for me i don't have a bathroom socket so used to charge my old brush in my bedroom and put this on charge there when i got it, however when i went to bed the flashing light was like sleeping with a disco light going so charge it elsewhere now. This is my first Oral-B toothbrush, i am so pleased with it i recommend this to anyone, and i would replace it with another Oral-B brush.

Best update in a long line of great electric brushes
I have used Braun electric toothbrushes for the last 13 years and have been complimented repeatedly by my hygienist on the cleanliness of my teeth. I use the floss head which seems to be particularly good at keeping tartar at bay. This new model (2000N) unlike earlier models has a lithium battery. In the short time I have had it, a single full charge lasts 12 days and the speed of the head remains constant over this time, dying rapidly at the time the warning light starts flashing. The time to recharge has been 12 hours so far (only charged twice) - as this is only once a fortnight it is no great hassle. This is the best model so far produced at this price level and I thoroughly recommend it. It should however be noted that the first brush I was sent had a faulty battery which would not charge so it is worth checking the ability to hold a charge immediately after delivery. The replacement procedure run by Amazon is second to none.

Great toothbrush, my teeth are in love.
I bought this toothbrush to replace something similar which was about 10 years old. I have absolutely no idea what's happened to toothbrushes in the last 10 years but this one feels like putting a nuclear-powered pneumatic drill in my mouth after the previous one. I'd be thrilled if not for the worry that all my teeth are going to end up on the bathroom floor if I make one wrong move. More usefully, it's worth knowing that there are two speed settings on this toothbrush, it does a little pause every 30 seconds so that you can time your brushing, and it nicely detects if you're pressing too firmly. It also has a useful charging indicator and leaves teeth incredibly clean. I just wish that Oral-B wouldn't have such a ridiculously confusing line-up of toothbrushes. It's more a case of 'pick your price' and then see what you end up with rather than actually being able to compare features and work out why a 2000N is better than a 600 series.
