The old style was very soft and flexible, but they didn't last long. The gel inside always leaked out after a bit. This new style is a much more durable material, but is much more inflexible and less comfortable.

Gave me much pain relief.

My body is moderately wide/thick, and the strap is not long enough to go around my torso to keep the ice pack positioned on one front shoulder. I am also not fond of the need to put the entire apparatus, strap and ice pack, in the freezer. If I had to do over I would buy one with the removable ice pack so that I could freeze the pack alone. That being said, I didn’t want to Take the trouble to return it, so I bought a long piece of 2 inch wide Velcro so that I could adjust the strap length myself at home.

I like how flexible it is for the knee and shoulder.

I had purchased this same product a few years ago and was very happy with it. I wanted a second gene wrap but when it arrived, I immediately saw that it contained approximately 30% less gel (I weighed my old and new gel wraps to compare). When I used the new gel wrap as a test, it did not cool nearly as well as my old one. I called the manufacturer, had to leave a phone message but did not receive a call back.

I Love these wraps. I bought 2. Stays heated longer than expected. I use it when I'm doing a massage to warm muscles on the neck shoulder. Always protect with a warm or dry cloth or towel so not to burn the skin. DON'T heat in microwave more than they recommend. I take it out every 20 seconds and squish it around to get the heat even. It's Adjustable so you can use it on your knees or back or wherever you need heat relief! When i freeze it, it stays cold for a long time. but 10 minutes is about all you need. again always protect the skin with a towel when using it. You won't be disappointed.
