Works great with windows 10
Works great to connect my old desktop computer to our new fiber internet. Even though I am several rooms away, and on another floor, from our Spectrum router it still works very well with download speeds 6 to 7 times faster than with the computers built in wifi (about 180 mbps with our old windows 10 desktop). Easy to install, I just went to my file list, found the install file for the device, after hooking it up, and double clicked on it. Then went to my internet folder and logged in. The instructions that came with it didn't match my computer, but that didn't matter.

Very Sturdy and Effective
So far so good. This was much bigger than my previous wireless adapter and also much more sturdy. I've had zero issues staying connected to the Internet on my laptop in my office (separated from the modem in my kitchen by three walls). I think this will last a long time and I'm very happy with my purchase. Super easy to plug in and play.

A bad choice that gets worse with time
This adapter is a poor choice because of the chipset used and some hardware design choices. Problem 1: Drivers Because of the poor choice of chipset, a manual installation of driver software is necessary. The device is supposed to present as a USB drive with Windows drivers, however it appears once the device mode-switches to Wi-Fi mode, it will never present the USB drive again on any device, even a brand new one. This means that if you move this device to another computer, you will need to find and download the driver... from the internet, which means you need a separate device with an internet connection to download the driver. Additionally, Linux driver support is very poor. In a previous version of this product page, they claimed Linux compatibility, however this "feature" has been stealthily removed. It is possible to configure this device on Linux, however you must manually compile the driver, which is a difficult and painstaking process which, again, likely will require an internet connection. Problem 2: Working Lifetime This device lasted 3 months before it completely stopped functioning. After about 1 month, it would randomly stop functioning for ~20 second intervals every few minutes. This behavior is driver, system, and configuration independent - it occurs on any device, regardless of operating system or driver used. The module itself becomes unresponsive, identifiable by a loss of internet connectivity and either an unlit status LED or glitchy blinking at irregular intervals. Most times, the device recovers after ~20 seconds, however in some cases the device will simply cease to function until it is unplugged and reconnected. If $10/month + frustration is your Wi-Fi adapter budget, this might be the module for you. If you're looking for a frustration-free 802.11ax/Wi-Fi 6 adapter, shop elsewhere.

Pulls in a strong signal
Works great! I was having signal drop in my home, but this antenna pulls in a very strong, stable signal. Yes I had to install driver, but that took two clicks and 30 seconds.

Powerful but bulky
It's the most powerful receiver that I've used to date, this one was able to pick up more signals than I knew were in the area. Of course, I was only interested in my own personal signal and that was given one extra bar of signal strength when I replaced my old receiver with this new one. It was a strong, steady signal and continued to hold even when my smart phone started to waver with its signal. Its range is greater than most other receivers on the market today, so it's a good investment. Furthermore, while it is advertised to work with Windows 10 only, I tested it with a Windows 11 computer and it worked without a problem on that system as well. However, there are some cons. The first one is that it's a BIG receiver as shown in the picture (it's a 27-inch screen) so it's not something that you'd likely be using with a laptop or transporting very much due to the size alone. The other problem is that the cable needed to operate it is unique to the device itself. While it can connect to any device using a standard USB port, the side that plugs into the receiver is unlike any I've seen. Therefore, the cable cannot be easily replaced if something happens to it. It's a thick, strong cable, but accidents still can happen so you need to be careful with the cable. As a final note, you should know that while this receiver is powerful, it cannot improve the capability of your own computer. Using an old laptop, that is slow in loading all programs including the internet, I was able to get a strong signal, but the internet loading was still slow. When used on a computer with fast loading times, the internet loaded fast. This is a VERY good receiver but just keep in mind it's just that, a receiver, it's NOT a performance enhancer.

Much Improved Speed & reliability from the last AC1200: but can't stand the LED
I used the earlier version (AC1200). After about a year of usage, the connection was flicking on/off. I contacted BrosTrends & got a quick refund & purchased the newer adapter, as the price difference was less than $10 and the newer one supported Wifi 6. Please note that it does NOT support the 6 GHz band, only Wifi 6 standard (my new Verizon router supports both), and my Windows 11 computer recognized it right away. So, given that AC1200 still sort of works, I tested the difference between the two. Despite 5GHz 867Mbps claim, I only got about 230Mbps on 5GHz on AC1200 on down speed (on Wifi 5). AX1800 managed to pull over 305Mbps, which is the max speed I signed up for. Both managed around 200Mbps on upload. So, this alone is worth the less than $10 diff. However, here's the real reason to purchase it. The second pic shows the connector difference. I realized as did this review that I got more USB connection dropping as I touched or moved the adapter around on AC1200. I believe the problem is that USB-C connector on the AC1200 has gotten loose over time or contaminated during relocation. I can feel it moving around as I shake it. The AX has a different connector as you can see from the 2nd pic top (vs AC on 2nd pic bottom). There is no base and the connection is much more secure and solid. I will add more review as I test this on my Linux (Ubuntu), but so far so good. BTW: One thing that's really annoying on AX is the rapidly blinking blue LED light on top of the adaptor. I wish it was much slower or just solid on. N. B: Make sure you download the driver prior to disconnecting. Window 11 does NOT auto-install a driver.

Works great!
Worked great as soon as I hooked it up.

Good price and easy to use.
Plugged in, downloaded a driver automatically, and my son was off and happy. His speeds have never been better so I'm not hearing anymore complaining. I wish I would have purchased this a long time ago. Also, the included cable was nice to allow for flexibility.
