Great camera even though model is 8 years old
The D7500 came out in 2017, is one of Nikons higher quality models from that time. Does not have latest tech compared to latest cameras or even phones. But for my needs, its almost perfect. Excellent viewfinder, awesome battery life (typical of dslr's, and one of the advantages over mirrorless cameras). So easy to get a great image. Fast accurate auto-focus. I prefer Program mode, but when in Auto mode, you can still get amazing, dependably sharp lower noise photos. The lens (18-140mm) it comes with is awesome, great image quality at all focal lengths. I bought an older model, because it was new (hard to find this model new anymore), on deep discount (at least compared to price when released in 2017), and was the higher quality model I was looking for. Lens and camera body are weather resistant. Great movie quality, too. I almost always use 4k, I'm ok with 30 fps., (though many newer models have 4K 60fps) movie image quality is clear, sharp, pleasing. It is certainly larger than a compact camera, but I can't afford one of the better compact models out now, and even many full frame cameras are now smaller than the D7500. What with Tariffs and general inflation, good cameras are VERY expensive now. I must admit I am partial to Nikon, and I wanted a camera with a decent range telephoto lens. This camera tiks all the boxes important to me, I extremely happy with it. The lens is fairly compact for an 18-140mm configuration, is just an outstanding lens.

Great camera!
Really impressed with this camera. I have a BFA in photography and wanted to upgrade from my old Nikon. Super happy with the control and quality. I feel like this camera has a wide range of capabilities and even a beginner could easily learn to use this camera. Very user friendly!

Excellent camera!
This camera, although it would be considered “dated” by younger generations of photographers, is still very much a powerhouse and a must have for anyone wanting to take photos in a variety of situations! This is a step up from the previous DSLR I owned so there is a small learning curve for me as far as the features. I also consider it a step up from the z50 mirrorless I own. While mirrorless is lighter weight, there are situations where it just isn’t capable of doing what I need. The real test for this D7500 will be marching season during halftime shows, but as of so far, I’m impressed! The 18-140 lens is truly an excellent lens! It is able to zoom in and out as I need in all situations I’ve used it so far. Very fast auto focus and I love that I can easily switch to manual on the lens itself without fiddling with settings on the camera. This significantly lowers the risk of me missing a photo opportunity because I’m looking for a setting in the camera menu. Sturdy body. This does add weight to the camera but honestly I feel like that isn’t a bad thing. I started my photography journey with an SLR with no auto focus and black & white film in HS. I learned to develop the film and photos myself. The features and options on this camera are truly amazing and I still have a lot to learn about it, but so far I’m impressed! I’ve always been a Nikon girl and they continue to provide excellent photography cameras and lenses! *photo taken at my local Memorial Day ceremony. This pup was super fast and I took several photos in quick succession to get the one shown on the review here. The D7500 didn’t hesitate, focused quickly and I was able to take this picture. The owners were thrilled when I posted it on the local page as they had yet to get a good pic of their new pup :)

It's a good upgrade from D7000
I've had the D7000 since 2011 and always found it hit or miss as far as focus goes. Spent a lot of time taking pictures of brick walls, angled rulers and focus charts trying to dial in AF fine tune. I got it as good as I could and could get sharp photos out of it but at times regardless of all that I'd get some images that were off or just overall seemed soft. At the time the D7000 was considered a good low light camera but I found this is where it struggled with focus the most. I was a bit disappointed to see the D7500 dropped to a single SD card slot and no longer incorporated magnesium in the frame construction. For those reasons I tried to pickup a new D7200 but apparently missed the boat and none were to be had (aside from refurb or import). Ultimately I caved in and went with the D7500 as the D500 is a good chunk of extra money and would require an external flash. I don't abuse things I own so magnesium frame components aren't a necessity to me and though dual card slots would be nice also aren't a necessity. I haven't had a card go bad ever and I'm not a professional photographer so I don't require the redundancy. If I were making profit from my photos I would be paying more for the body with dual card slots. I don't agree with the statements that the D7500 is a step back from the D7200, it's more like a diagonal step forward. There are improvements that have been made that make it better than a D7200 but it has moved in a different direction than the D7000, 7100 and 7200 previous models. It is now the advanced consumer camera the D7xxx line was meant to be rather than the lite version of a professional model. Overall I'm very pleased with it and glad I got it instead of a D7200. I don't have the focus issues I saw with the D7000 and the low light performance is vastly superior to that of the D7000. It also has full support for the new AF-P lenses which I picked up a refurb 18-55 vr for a very low price. The focus speed of the AF-P lenses is near instant and for video has no detectable noise unlike the AF-S that make ridiculously loud noise while slowly dialing in to focus that is picked up by the built-in camera microphone. I also found the AF-P lens to take incredibly sharp photos which kind of surprised me since it's a "cheap" plastic mount kit lens.

I was searching for the upgrade. At first, I was thinking of a pricey Nikon mirrorless camera. After doing more research, i decided to go with Nikon D7500 for upgrading my outdated and old school Nikon D90. I decided to purchase this DSLR due to its price and all requirements that I am looking for are met, with tilting screen, 4K video recording, audio & video inputs, Wifi & Bluetooth capability and with 51 focus points which is good for shooting wildlife, portrait and landscape. Also, all my lenses are with F-Mount. With a big surprise, all the items (DSLR + Kit Lens) are all brand new and very well packed and secured. I strongly recommend the seller for the job well done. You got my trust.
