Nice Kit - Very Professional
This is the first lighting kit I purchased from this seller. I have purchased from others and this kit is very well thought out and the folks have gone the extra mile to add bricks (Not LEGO) that make it much easier to run the wiring and add lights to lamps and such. The connectors are small and sometimes hard to connect, but they are well made and I love the way they do the overhead lights for the rooms. These kits are not for the inexperienced folks, with their small connections this is the most difficult part of the assembly. Once mastered the kit goes together easily. Have already ordered one for the Police Station.

Way better than the others
I’ve built light kits from a variety of company, this was my first time using briksmax and I am super impressed! The price was less than half the cost of my go-to brand, and still included wireless power connectors, which is so important to me for the Modular’s. I really appreciated that they included the manual instead of making me print it, the steps were as easy to follow as the more expensive option. Lots of individual lights and few strips which I feel looks way better, even if the build is a bit more complex. Also including tweezers was a nice touch. I’ll buy another light kit from briksmax because of my experience with this one.

Great for lighting up the place~
Very nice packaging and pretty great detail instruction booklet. Light strips though have been prone to dropping off from the 1x6 flats it comes with. Recommend sticking them on and resting a bit of weight on them awhile. Or just applying a little more glue, either way. A couple wires are not long enough for how it's set in the book, but still was able to get basically the same setup. (One was a tree wire, the other is the one that runs up from the basement) This kit does assume you keep the two buildings together as is.

Too much work for too many points of failure and no easy way to diagnose.
None of this worked. The infuriating part isn't that something didn't work--you can usually diagnose something as a broken wire because of clamping or a broken LED. The infuriating part is that with Briksmax, you have to assemble every tiny bit of it, from adhering the LED panels to connecting each wire to a controller or panel, and then once it's all done it just feeds into a single board so you can't diagnose properly if you broke something. Contrast Lightailing that is just slapping LEGO pieces already made for you with their LEDs and making sure you don't clamp the wires. The result is that there is a LOT of work required before you can even assemble--you need to basically plug everything in and THEN test it to see if things turn on. Well, oops, I went ahead and assembled everything together. Approximately 2 hours of work because of all the assembly that goes into this. And which part doesn't work? I'll never know. The USB and the battery connection didn't work, so maybe one of my panels is broken. Could it be a clamped wire? Could be a panel? Could it be the controller? It's all connected to a single box. Maybe the remote itself doesn't work? I will never know because there are too many points of failure. Contrast Lightailing, which typically has a bunch of USBs you can just plug in one by one and see which part fails. This was my first time going with Briksmax. And this will be my last time. I knew about the assembly beforehand, but I had thought there wouldn't be so many points of possible failure where everything is super tight and I'll never know.

Looks Great, but can no longer separate the buildings
It looks great. And the install is reasonably easy and straightforward. At least as far as lighting kits go. But it has two flaws. One a minor quibble, the other rather major. The minor quibble is it makes now attempt to actually light the various interior light fixtures throughout the two buildings. All internal lighting is from overhead strip lighting. I know it's a minor pet peeve, But I've come to expect that from better light kits. and Bricksmax is supposed to be on that list. The more serious issue is with how they run the wiring. It requires that the two buildings be in the specific cover photo configuration, and connected with the black connector pins forevermore. Now accommodation is made for the fact that these are two separate and more importantly separable buildings that can be displayed to either side of each other, or split up in different parts of your city. The kit makes no allowances for that. It's not even a matter of having the two halves mostly separate with a joining power feed between hubs, and simply swapping in a second USB plug to power them individually. To rig these buildings up to separate requires quite a bit of reworking the wiring, and ordering some individual components such as hubs, connector cables and an extra USB connector. To the point where you could probably come up with a better lighting layout yourself doing it ala carte. Don't get me wrong, I've been extremely happy with most of the other Bricksmax kits that I own. With some becoming my goto universal conversion kit. Their light kit for the City Chief Fire Response Truck is the best kit to use to light any and every Lego Minifig Scale Car or Truck, bar none. It's just that the lighting kit for the Bookstore feels a bit bland and a bit poorly thought out (much like the bookstore itself, which is one of the weaker Lego Modular Buildings).

Peace of mind and fun, just do it.
My wife has made 6 different flower arrangements from lego. To challenge her abilities at 74 yrs old, I bought this corner building to encourage her use of mind and skills. About 1/5 of the way done, but it's the center of every thing, constantly in the instructions and adding a piece. The best buy for her in yrs. and at 55 yrs. married that says a lot. Worth every cent in our minds.

Nice upgrade
The new style is really nice, really like the way the levels connect, the old wire was a pain.

Briksmax is my favourite brand for Lego lights! I bought this brand of lights for Lego Downtown Diner as well and I love that there is just one USB by the time you have finished, I have used another brand where I was left with a lot of USB's by the end up which was a pain. As you can see from my photos using lights brings the building to life! Customer service was excellent, I damaged a cable & I was honest & said that it was my mistake and they're sending me a new free of charge. They responded to all my messages very quickly. I won't buy another brand.
