I am a happy guy at the moment, enjoying one of these superb lemon drops as I write. A week ago, I found myself rereading the first Harry Potter book. Dumbledore is eating lemon drops, a muggle candy he had become especially fond of, and this scene made me think back to these really great lemon drops with a British-sounding name I remembered from childhood. I have not had one of these since I was a kid, and my sister and I got tins of these treats in our Christmas stockings. My memory was one of a sturdy round tin, removing its lid to reveal a gold foil sealing the contents. Peeling back the foil presented the generous drops, all dusted with fine icing sugar to prevent sticking. My memory was of a perfect lemon flavor, and a hard candy so painstakingly made that it would melt like a silky smooth glass button in my mouth. No sharp edges or voids like the low quality cheap drugstore brands. Anyway, I found the Cavendish & Harvey website, and it is a wealth of information about their history, their top quality ingredients, and their 100% natural flavors. They are a 70+ year old family-owned German company that merged with an English firm in 1959, and ships to 60 countries. Also, buy the 12 tin box because they make great gifts, but more because other vendors on Amazon totally price gouge this product, 3-5 times as much as this case. Be aware they make a smaller tin, but the drops themselves are much smaller. The 5.3 oz (150g) size is the way to go, and the 12 pack makes each tin about $2.90 delivered. Best part is my memory of these from my childhood was not romanticized. They are simply perfect both in presentation, taste and mouthfeel to an adult palette. I think I'll have another...

Oh man, these are so damn good, but pricey. I got these since the fruit Altoids are no longer available. Will purchase again, but as I said, they are pricey.

Buy these if you like lemon candy. The only problem is that you won't eat any other lemon candy again.

Great lemon candy, which is hard to find. A little expensive, but worth it if you enjoy lemon candy. This is not some super sour, destroy your mouth, type of candy. This is good old-fashioned lemon candy for people who want lemon flavor and a bit of sweetness too. They also come in nice metal tins, which could be reused or recycled. Also would make nice gifts or stocking stuffers at Christmas.
