Consistently sustains the advertised read/write speeds when used with the included card reader and my laptop's SD Express 7.0 slot. The included card reader is high-quality with a metal enclosure.

Read speed is nice but if you use USB3.0 you get the HUGE pain of 45min to write 100GB and a tiny speed gain over an equal price uhs-ii v60 sd card that writes from 2 to 4x faster. If you never write over 10GB at once, this is ok. I did get a 512gb uhs-i card+reader for half the price that writes 2x faster.

The reader was not in the package. Cannot make use of the speed without the specific reader. Ordered again and same thing happened that the reader was not included.

Speed tests give inconsistent results. It may have something to do with how full the card is. It's nice that it comes with a compact card reader.

I was looking for a Micro SD Express & everything was sold out because 3.5 million Switch 2 owners had the same idea. This popped up during a search & I hit that buy it now button without reading anything other than "express." Turns out it's a regular SD card. My friend is a photographer so I gave it to her. She's thrilled, apparently it's really good for taking pictures of birds.

I don't understand, why it reads and writes sooo fast, but still V30 rated? Yes, this one is good on computer, with the card reader. However, it still V30 on camera, so it is being said. It would allow you shoot 4K at 120Hz, this will be no difference if you buying a cheaper same rating one. The price is just not getting you a better performance on camera. Actually, it is even worse than one of the other V30 on my camera. It will stall during continuous shooting with my a74, I'd have to wait until the buffer to be cleared when trying to writing to the sd card. Around 1 shot per sec in the worest days, I guess it due to over heatting, this never happen to the other card.

Ok, so if you're looking at SDExpress cards and worried about value/storage for the cost...well, that's not the point. The point of these new cards (which ARE backwards compatible and work in normal SDXC card readers) is the second set of contacts on the back of the card that let it reach INCREDIBLE speeds on both reads and writes (in an SDExpress reader). As you can see in the attached benchmark image, it's exceeding the speeds of internal SATA SSDs and closing on slower NVMe drives which is crazy for a memory card. These benchmarks were taken with the SDExpress reader in this package and the included USB-C cable attached to a Windows 11 PC through a Thunderbolt 4 port - it should get similar performance on any higher end USB-C connection (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or better, I would think). The reader that you get is compact and portable, but does require a cable (also included) vs plugging straight in itself. The card seems to be not only a high performer, but like it will be somewhat durable. I did test the backwards compatibility and it worked fine (albeit much slower) in a normal card reader. While this card is not for everyone - as the price shows - but if you have a device that can make use of the huge jump in speed (like say a very high end camera), then this is a great card/reader combination to get!

Sometime I just get a read error or sometimes it completely blocks my camera. same on the card reader on the computer. had to format 2 cards after not using them for 4 months, lost all pictures on it. would not recomend at all

I'm quite familiar with Ritz Cameras, but had no idea they have their own line of products, so this was my first. Memory cards are so common in my home, and I must have at least 50 of them in various devices and as spares. 256gb is a lot or not enough, depending on your use case, but for most photographers and even those shooting in 4k, this could cover an entire vacation worth of shooting and more. What really catches my attention, though, is the speed. 820MB/s read and 500MB/s write is bananas fast at lease 5-10x faster than the most popular SD cards. The rating on this card is V30, which doesn't make any sense, since that would make it approved for minimum 30MB/s write speed. The class 3 and UHS speed class 1 is also really strange to see for such a fast card. I'm honestly not sure why these speed ratings are so low, since it's obvious that this card is more than capable of higher speeds. This "kit" includes a card reader that's excellent quality. The included cable looks to be about 4' long and the reader had a metal housing, which helps to dissipate heat quickly. During my standard SD card tests, I've been able to get very close to the claimed speeds, and this card throws around 4GB+ files like it was nothing. Transferring between this card and my NVME SSD is near instant. The card also includes most of the features you'd find in higher end cards: waterproof, temperature proof, shockproof, x-ray proof, and a lifetime warranty. At $200, which includes the card reader, I think this is an excellent buy if you need speed. If speed isn't your priority, then consider some of the other cards that RitzGear offers, since you'll get better value and higher capacity options.

The reason I've given this a middling review score is the fact that speeds are not consistent with the specifications, even using the included reader which one would only assume they would ensure is actually compatible with their card. The read speed I got is pretty close to what they stated at around 700-800 MB/s (which is very fast for an SD card) but the write speed I got after multiple real life sequential writes from a fast SSD topped out around 140-160 MB/s which is way lower than the promised 500 MB/s. Since I get the full read speed, it is unlikely to be a host device connection issue. I don't know if the card I received is just defective somehow but I can only write about what I see. For those who're just searching for a regular fast SD card and might be confused about why this is so expensive for the capacity, this is not a regular SD card but an SDExpress card which is more like CFExpress but in an SD format. There is an extra row of contacts on the card when used with an SDExpress capable device (or the included reader) to make it operate at the faster speed using direct PCI express access. The nice thing about SDExpress is that it's backwards compatible, you can still read and write to the card with non-SDExpress devices just at a reduced speed so you can move it to and from all of your existing SD compatible devices - you just won't get the benefit of the extra speed SDExpress offers without an SDExpress device/reader. The included SDExpress reader is extremely useful since I've personally never heard of any laptop/pc that has support for SDExpress built in (though they may exist, certainly not common). It's unfortunate that the reader only includes a USB-C -> USB-C cable and no adapter, which would have made it more versatile, but it's an easy enough problem to solve if you need to. I expected the "bonus" reader to be cheap junk, but it's actually quite well made. It has a metal casing and is overall solidly made. It doesn't have a fixed cable, but rather a USB-C port so you can switch up the cable as needed which is nice. The reader has a Realtek based chipset and works fine on every device I've tried it on.

Gründe für den Kauf / Einsatzzweck Wer eine DLSM / DSLR hat und sich mit Thema mehr beschäftigt wird um eine ordentliche Bildbearbeitung nicht herumkommen. Dabei sind RAW-Dateien am Ende immer wieder die beste Wahl. Was aber ist der Unterschied zum normalen Bild? RAW-Dateien sind verlustfrei, also unkomprimierte Daten der Aufnahmen des Kamerasensors. Die Rohdaten eines Fotos, die erst verarbeitet werden müssen, um ein Foto zu erhalten, hierbei fehlt die Komprimierung und daher sind diese Datenmengen um einiges größer als fertige JPEGs. Man benötigt also für Serienaufnahmen oder Video vor allem zwei Dinge: Speicherplatz und Geschwindigkeit! Da wird sich meine Sony Alpha oder meine Canon nun aber freuen :) Design & Verarbeitungsqualität Da kann man nicht viel zu sagen… Das sieht halt aus wie eine edle SD Karte ;) Funktion/en & Benutzerfreundlichkeit Als extra haben wir dann noch einen Kartenleser nebst USB-C Kabel dabei, also kann man an aktuellen Laptops und Desktops problemlos arbeiten. Dann das Herzstück! Die 256 GB SD Karte, wird in der Kamera und am PC (Win 11) sofort erkannt. Die Canon hat ihre ersten Daten fleißig auf die Karte geschossen und die RAW Aufnahmen laufen sauber und flüssig! Sogar lange Serienaufnahmen sind 1A durchgegangen. Bei meiner Sony das gleiche Spiel, egal ob Video oder Bild – die Karte packte alle Belastungsproben bis jetzt. Ok, bei Ritz Gear hat man schon Erwartungen, ein Fotofachhandel seit 1918 und hier wird man nicht enttäuscht. Mit den Karten ist es dem Unternehmen gelungen einen sauberen Beitrag zu dem digitalen Zeitalter der Fotografie zu leisten. Geschwindigkeit im Lese- und Schreibbereich ist hier sehr gut geeignet um auch höheren Ansprüchen gerecht zu werden. Was ist aber nun mit der Lebenserwartung einer solchen Luxuskarte? Dazu kann ich leider noch nichts sagen, aber das sollte hier hoffentlich kein Problem werden. Pro und Contra + Lese- und Schreibgeschwindigkeiten + inklusive extra Kartenleser - Der Preis ist nicht ohne! Preisleistungsverhältnis Für 199,99€ im November 2022 ist das ein stolzer Preis für eine SDXC mit 256GB im Vergleich zu anderen Karten in der Güteklasse haben wir ein durchschnittliches bis eher schon Preisleistungsverhältnis.
