Great Can Opener - Also Doubles as a Cat Summoning Device
This can opener is brilliant - smooth, no effort required, and it slices through tins like a hot knife through butter. Yes, it makes a bit of noise, but honestly, that’s a feature, not a flaw. In my house, it’s basically the feline dinner bell. The moment it starts whirring, my cats teleport directly to my feet, looking at me like I’ve just performed a miracle. So, not only do I get perfectly opened cans of tuna, I also get instant furry companionship. Honestly, it’s the most reliable relationship I’ve ever had. Highly recommend - unless you don’t like cats staring at you with judgemental eyes until the tuna is served.

Best tin opener i have ever owned
Brilliant 👏 so easy to use. Get one if you have painful hands. No sharp edges left either so safer than the original method

Can't give 5 stars...
Brilliant little opener, suits a lazy person (like me) or someone with restricted grip or power in their hands and has so far opened every tin/can that I've asked it to but... Unless you manually stop it it will continue to go round and round and round the can as it seems unable to recognise that it's successfully opened it. Perhaps mine's a rogue one but I'm surprised that an item of this price bracket doesn't have such a facility built in.

Didnt work for me!
Tried this on an ordinary can of Sainsbury kidney beans. Ran it for several circuits. It could not open the tin but even worse it left a partial cut with a very rough and dangerous edge. Returned it immediately for a refund. Simce some people have had success with it, its my guess that it depends on the design of the top of the can?

Very good easy operation
Have had this can opener for about a month, so cannot vouch for longevity, however, I am very pleased with purchase so far. All cans opened without problem, even ones with ring pull in place, the device works by side cutting, with no sharp edges. Much less trouble than manual can opener, which I have started to really struggle with due to MS. I will now find this gadget indispensable, and there are no negatives yet. Only thing I do now with empty tins, is to pinch the sides, so that the removed lids go inside them for recycle/disposal. No sharp edges to worry about any more. Great product, recommended.

Wonderful help for painful hands
Make sure you read operating instructions - husband took ages to work out on his own!! Really superb once sorted & ideal for me with arthritic hands. Not too noisy for me & cut edges really are smooth. Seems sturdy & good quality but early days.

Easy to use
I have been struggling to open cans for some time, despite buying a gadget to help with ring pulls, so when our conventional can opener fell apart after very little use, I decided to try one of these. I turn most ring pull cans upside-down and use the opener on the bottom of them. The other day there was one can that couldn't be opened this way as the bottom edge was rounded, but others have been fine! This can opener is really simple to use. There are downsides to most things of course and, in this instance, size may matter! It is larger than a hand-turned opener and, if kept in its box, takes a bit of space. I have kept mine in the box in a cupboard as it didn't fit comfortably into my kitchen drawer. It is not heavy, unless you have very weak hands and wrists but if this was the case you would probably find it quite easy to use both hands to put it on the tin. Anything with two batteries in will have a little bit of weight to it. All in all, I'm very glad to have added this to my kitchen appliances. The air no longer turns blue (a la Gordon Ramsey) when I try to open a can and there are no more splatters on the wall from the ring pull lids flicking off. Well worth the money, in my opinion.

Really smooth edges
I bought this an a disability aid due to increasing difficulties with my hands, it is amazing, you simply plonk it on the tin so the blade is up to the edge, press the button, stand back and watch. It goes around and removes the lid. When finished it stops, you lift it up and, if steel the lid is stuck to the can opener, and hey presto, opened tin!. The opened tin has a rolled edge, so you couldn’t cut yourself if you tried, in the interests of consumer testing I tried, nothing, I’m thinking of repurposing tins for seedlings now the edges are that smooth. The lid is equally safe to handle. The unit is light enough, nice and bright, it does make a bit of a racket going round, but it’s well worth putting up with. I used it on a tin with a ring pull on it, it took the lid off that without any issue whatsoever, I did wonder if it would get snagged on the ring pull. Lnger term I wonder how long the batteries will last, and whether this could have been fitted with a rechargeable high power battery, maybe when they do version 3.0.
