I’ve also noticed the disposer runs a bit quieter with this guard in place, which is a nice bonus. The only minor tradeoff is that water drains more slowly compared to a wide-open flange, but that’s pretty common with snug-fitting splash guards. For me, it’s actually reassuring since it helps prevent utensils from slipping into the disposal unnoticed. Our previous guard had started to pop out when we turned the disposer on. That made a big mess and was no fun at all. This new splash guard worked perfectly. It fits in the drain nice and firm, and does not simply pop out when the disposer is full and turned on. It also comes with a new stopper, which we didn't need, but we'll keep it just in case. Good product. Good price...

Before buying this product, I saw a lot of negative reviews about how it wouldn't let food or water go down the drain because the rubber fins are too stiff... and that people kept having to "pull it out" to drain their sink. Have they not heard of the end of a utensil? Honestly, I have used garbage disposals almost my whole life, and this did complaint not make sense to me. I couldn't find many other products that fit my model disposal AND included the stopper for this price, so I went for this one despite the reviews making me a little hesitant. SURE ENOUGH, THIS PRODUCT WORKS FINE. It would seem that a lot of the people making negative reviews for this splash guard don't really understand the way these things are supposed to work. Maybe they had really worn out ones that came with their house/apartment when they moved in, and never saw one that functions normally? Not sure, but regardless, this thing keeps large chunks of food or foreign objects like utensils from going down the disposal by accident, like it should, and it also keeps the water down there from splashing up when the disposal is run, like it should. It does NOT prevent water from draining whatsoever (see my attached video). The fit in my Waste King disposal unit is pretty snug so I don't see it coming dislodged when I force larger food chunks down with the end of a utensil, which is sometimes necessary... but honestly you are not supposed to be putting most larger chunks of food into the drain anyway, read the garbage disposal manual if you don't believe me! Most bigger chunks of food could risk damaging or clogging the disposal and should be thrown in the trash, not down the drain. Smaller bits of food can still go down the central hole with the majority of the water.
