Coming on the heels of the massive global #1 success of THE WRONG SIDE OF HEAVEN AND THE RIGHTEOUS SIDE OF HELL Volume 1 earlier this summer, Five Finger Death Punch release the second installment of their masterwork. Five Finger Death Punch didn't take the easy road on their fourth and fifth albums, THE WRONG SIDE OF HEAVEN and THE RIGHTEOUS SIDE OF HELL Vol. 1 & 2. The gold-selling, chart topping Las Vegas quintet fire off their most enigmatic, engaging, and empowering salvos yet. Open up your mind, raise your fist, and dive into THE WRONG SIDE OF HEAVEN AND THE RIGHTEOUS SIDE OF HELL Vol. 1 & 2. Review: The Death Punch Sound IS Their Claim To Fame!!! - Volume 2 is here and was very much worth the wait (even though it was only a few months). It's musical sound fits very well with volume 1 but has it's own style to stand on it's own. This time around there are no collaborations or duets (not that there was anything wrong with them, I enjoyed them) and I was happy with that (the more of Ivan's voice heard, the better IMO). What I was kinda surprised about was that there really wasn't any kind of referencing to volume 1. I would have really liked to have a split story kind of deal, maybe with volume 1 being more the wrong side of heaven and volume 2 the righteous side of hell,,, something like that if it makes sense. But it's nothing to complain about, the album is excellent and will not disappoint. To me the band keeps getting better as time passes. As for the songs themselves.... I'll start with the exciting surprises. Cold and The House of the Rising Sun. Cold is a remake from Ivan's past with Black Blood Orchestra. I had only discovered BBO by accident awhile ago and I think it's great for Ivan to bring his past work into the present. The song is awesome and haunting all at once. And House of the Rising Sun, I have to say I love this unexpected cover. So many artists have covered this folk song, and I have liked past versions, but to hear Ivan sing it makes me feel the song was meant to be sung by him. I hope to hear more songs like this on their future albums. I'm not going to do a song by song breakdown for this album as I do not feel there is a need. There is not a single song to skip on this album and no filler. The Agony of Regret is the one instrumental song on the album, but it's just over a minute and a half, so if you aren't the biggest instrumental fan out there, you'll still be good(I'm not much of one and I was fine). The rest of the songs are exactly what you expect from the band and all 5 of them work together to make some killer sounds. My personal favorites this time around are: Here to Die, Wrecking Ball, Cradle to the Grave and A Day in My Life. I love all the songs on here but these are the 4 I truly enjoy because they are the ones that make me feel as if Ivan is pulling excerpts from my own life. That's another reason I love this band, besides the awesome music, I really feel like they relate to the average guy (or at least do a very good job of trying to). Anyway once again I highly recommend this album to all fans and potential new fans of the band. If this is your starting point, make sure to do yourself a favor and experience the rest of their stuff. (also if you like Ivan's voice and his style be sure to check out his other works like Ghost Machine, Motograter, Black Blood Orchestra....) If you are already a Knucklehead, then get this now if you haven't already and immerse yourself in it. That's what I've been doing these last couple days and what I will be doing for an indefinite amount of days to come. GOOD STUFF!!!!! Review: Much more pros than cons - More like 9/10 to be specific. Let me start with the negatives and end with positives. While these lyrics are my favorite from Death Punch so far, to give this album a 10, there would need to be more depth to the lyrics. The only other negative thing is that I wish Agony of Regret was longer because it is THAT GOOD. Five Finger Death Punch keeps their signature sound, but this is my favorite album now because I can listen to the entire thing without hating any song. I like their past albums but in my subjective opinion, this albums has better lyrical themes than past albums overall. Not only this but Agony of Regret, Cold, and parts of other songs show that the band has a softer side to balance the music out. i also heard solos on basically every song which I enjoyed. While they were not highly technical, they were good. Speaking of balance, Ivan Moody has a good balance of growling, screaming and singing. He shows his skill in all 3, and I love that. Zoltan Bathory and Jason Hook work together well, and I love the B tuning they use although I wouldn't mind hearing them experiment doing A tuning on a single sometime. Im just the guy that loves lower tunings, but nothing wrong with the higher ones. Zoltan usually plays cleaner with less distortion with his guitar, which matches my preferences. Distortion is not evil, but I prefer the level these guys choose in their music. Chris Kael i have a harder time reviewing because these headphones may not play the bass through well enough, but I like what I hear, alongside with his epic beard. Whatever he plays sounds good to me. Jeremy Spencer has improved on the drums a lot in my opinion. Not that he wasn't good before, but he seems to have improved in his technicality. Not that I am qualified to asses that but I just hear better drumming. The Box Art on this deluxe edition is surely a 9.5/10 awesome colors, epic imagery, and great photography. BUY THIS DELUXE EDITION AND SUPPORT THE BAND! it's worth it.

35 years of listening experience.
I have been listening to good hard rock bands for 35 years and 5FDP is definitely a good hard rock band. Everyone of their CD's is good and well worth the purchase. It's hard to say that they have gotten better with each CD because every CD is just as good as another, but they do just that. They keep getting better with every CD. You can tell that they love what they do and do what they love, making kick-ass music. And for anyone that loves this band you know you can't say that you don't care or like as much any cd that's just been purchased. Every CD and every song on those CD's become your new favorite after you keep listening to it. And keep listening to it you do. This is the only band that I have ever heard that when they release a new CD that you listen to over and over, it makes you want to listen to all their older one's to, over and over. Any of their CD's can be listened to without feeling burned out on them. Listened to The Wrong Side of Heaven all summer and couldn't wait for this one to be released. Never had any doubt that when it was, I'd be listening to it just as much. The Righteous Side of Hell, Vol 2 is just as good. Like I said; I have been listening to and purchasing good music for 35 years and these guys are one of my favorite bands. #1 spot anyways. Have never has the opportunity to see them live yet so the DVD with the deluxe version is awesome and awe inspiring. Grammy worthy material for sure.
