Love it! Absolutely the best ever in quality: flavor, digestibility, size of soup can, aroma -- worth every cent.

I bought some of the New England chowder and the crab bisque to try the brand out and the bisque is bland and full of shells but the chowder is really good. It's easy to heat and ready to eat so it's a tasty fast meal. There's large chunks of clam and potato and the clams are tender and sweet. The only thing is it's not as thick or creamy as homemade or a good restaurant but it's still much better than other brands.

I ordered 6 cans of Bar Harbor (based/produced) New England Clam Chowder "ready-to-serve" expecting the taste and composition would mirror the NE clam chowder I enjoyed locally while stationed at Brunswick ME naval air station many years ago. To my disappointment what I got was horrible tasting. Instead of a thickened base with measurable sized pieces of clams - what you'd expect NE clam chowder would be (and how I remembered it) - the liquid base was essentially thin milky water and the clam content was near non-existent. No celery, no potato ... nothing but the milky thin base liquid and totally tasteless, and on top of this it didn't have any fishy/clam/seafood odor whatsoever. Purportedly this product is produced in Bar Harbor, ME.... but I've visited Bar Harbor on vacation and in no way does this canned product remotely resemble the same content and composition of what you get in the local eateries.

First off, the other reviews complained about dented cans repeatedly. None of my 12 cans arrived dented. Next, I am not from New England and don't pretend to be a clam chowder conissieur. However, I do enjoy a tasty Boston clam chowder! Been searching for a rich, creamier soup for years. One that comes in a can, ready to heat, with NO ADDED INGREDIENTS NEEDED! Otherwise, I'd be a chef! This soup is average tasting but thin as water. It has an OK amount of clams and potatoes but is very thin. Not the rich creamy soup we get in Boston. Not sure why, in the year 2021, nobody makes a can of clam chowder that's extraordinary and needs no added ingredients??? I'll continue searching..

Great taste. Not as thick or as clammy as I would have liked. I think maybe the condensed version is better.
