Don’t judge the book by its cover -Exceeded my expectations.
This “Oreshnitsa” works like magic despites its size and light weight. It’s made out of aluminum, rather than cast iron like back in days, but it’s a huge plus from my opinion. So compact, lightweight and easy to work with. The size of the completed nuts is just a few mm smaller than the ones that come out of the mold with only 9 cavities. And that is also a plus in my opinion. You can fill the baked nut shells completely, without worrying that there will be to much filling. Plus you get double the amount of shells at once. I used it on my glass stove top. Before first use I scrubbed the mold with a sponge, just in case there was any metal dust left from factory molding. Then I heated it up to burn any other residue that it may had. To my surprise there were no fumes what so ever. Then while it was still hot, I put it under hot running water to steam it out (just for the added peace of mind) :-) I got perfect results with this simple recipe: Melted butter 200 gm (little less than 2 sticks) 2 eggs Sugar ¾ glasses (150 gm) Salt ¼ teaspoon Vanilla to taste (optional) Baking soda 1/2 teaspoon Vinegar about 1/2 tablespoons All-purpose flour 3.5 glasses (455 gm) Oil (to grease the mold, before baking the first batch of dough only) Mix sugar with salt, vanilla and eggs. Pour in melted (cooled of) butter. Mix it. Pour vinegar over baking soda (above the mixture, as it will foam and escape from the spoon), and stir it really well. Add the flour (1 glass at a time). Knead the dough on the table. Form little balls. I used a ½ teaspoon measuring spoon, and they turned out to be just the perfect size. On my glass stove top the high heat setting on the smallest burner worked out the best. But you may want to use medium on a coil burner, or medium/low on a gas stove top. Preheat the greased mold. Place the balls into the mold. I held it about a minute and a half on one side, and then about a minute on the other. You can peek during the cooking to see if the shells are getting golden in color. After they are baked, you just open it above the plate and the nut shells falling right out. Once in a while I used a tooth pick just to help a few out, but they do not stick at all. If you want to save time, instead of holding the mold handles, tie them with a rubber band for the first minute of baking, while the dough is still expanding. After that, handles don’t have to be held together. Meanwhile you could continue preparing rest of the balls of the dough to make process run faster. Have some old towel next to the stove, this way you can put open mold right on top of it while putting next batch of the dough. You may also want to use it to wipe the butter from the sides of the mold once in a while. Don’t be afraid to lift “oreshnitsa” from the stove to wipe it at any time if you see that butter about to drip, it won’t ruin the cookies. Trim cooled nutshells with scissors if there is any excess dough, and fill them with the filling of your choice. I filled them up with boiled for 3 ½ hours condensed milk prepared ahead. Took about 1 ½ can for this recipe. Just fill the helves to the top flat, making sure the edges are covered in filling, and stick them together. When filled to the top, the filling/cookie ratio is just perfect. My glass stove top is in the same condition as it was before I started. And the mold looks perfect after so many batches of the dough (I got approximately 100 completed nuts out of this recipe). I can see that it will last forever. Hope this will help somebody, who is debating just like I did. So glad I decided to try this mold instead of returning it. It is way better than old, big, bulky, heavy molds. Get the job done perfectly. 10 stars from me :-)

It still works great like the one from my childhood
The mold is much smaller than I thought. It still works great like the one from my childhood. The other complaint I had is that if your stove is flattop electric, it doesn't provide even bake because of the piece that connects the halves. You will have to move it around more. But I am assuming if the stove is gas or electric with the spring, then the bake would be more even.

I like this mold
It works as supposed to work. Be sure to clean very, very well before the first use. It has an aluminium film that will go into your cookies if you don't clean well with hot water, soup and brush. I have electric stove and the shape of mold will not allow to have full contact with the surface of the stove. Also it is very messy. The oil will leak on your stove and burn. So my first experience was very painful and super messy. But I am not a surrender. I purchased single burner and it works perfect! This burner makes all experience nice and easy with little of mess that can be clean with paper towel. My family loves this cookies. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KW1Y9JG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Easy to use and yummy cookies from my childhood!
I don’t usually write reviews, but have to this time. When I first got it, I thought how tiny the this form is, but decided to give it a try and oh my I was into a big surprise on the final results and how easy it was to use. Yes, it’s time consuming but it’s all worth it at the end!

I was very excited to receive this mold, and tried it literally the next day. Cookies turned out just perfect, they didn't stick to the mold, and were baked evenly. This seller has excellent customer service and responds promptly to all inquiries. I highly recommend this product and seller!
