This has definitely been one of the best after-shave gels I have used, with great value for money - and I say it after having tried quite a few other brands in the past. As a bonus, it is Cruelty (and Paraben, Sulphate) Free - which is important for most buyers like me. The cooling effect on the 'Cool' version is very comforting, and counteracts razor burn effectively. The fragrance is amazing, and the quality of the product lasts very well - I used it over a period of five months and there has been absolutely no degradation till the very end. Great to see Indian companies come up with products that make sense and are of excellent quality. Go for it, eyes closed.

I had ordered this product specifically for the 3 ingredients mentioned - menthol, and spearmint - to have that blast of cooling sensation on my face when applied. It was not there. All it felt was like when one applies aloe vera gel. Hence, disappointed. Thus Rating it 3.

Good product. Gives cooling effect but not good for sensitive skin

It doesn't at all give any cooling or soothing experience. And its application causes profuse sweating of the face.

Update I’m revising my review after a month of continuous use. The alum gel seems ineffective in the long run. I now prefer an alum bar as my primary aftershave, complemented by Bombay Shaving Company’s aftershave balm for moisturizing. Old Review I chose Alum gel aftershave because it’s travel-friendly and hassle-free for flights. It’s a great alternative to alcohol-based aftershaves, which can irritate the skin. This gel is gentle, non-irritating, and works effectively.
