Formatting of card can be done with computer or camera
I have used microSD card which was already formatted for only 5 minutes. Another review was unhappy that the card they received was not formatted, which any one can do with the computer, similar to formatting of CDs. Also, I found out that my camera gives me the ability to format Sd or microcard. Fantastic design of Kodak to make card this color, it makes it easy to distinguish.

THIS DIDN'T WORK AT ALL IN MY KODAK CAMERA. WHEN I INSTALLED IT. THE CAMERA SAID IT NEEDED TO BE FORMATTED AND DID NOT. I PURCHASED 2 EACH SO I WOULDN'T NEED THEM FOR A WHILE. ORDER THE SANDISK MEMORY CARD 32GB. Functionality: DID NOT FUNCTION WITH MY KODAK CAMERA. BEING MADE FOR A KODAK CAMERA.
