Disappointing performance and unable to recharge
Good concept, good idea, but lackluster performance. The brightest setting (for the white light) is not much more than a night light, and the lava lamp feature is as underwhelming a feature as I've ever seen. The worst part is that after the initial charge, I was only able to re-charge it once before it would no longer take a charge. Now it just sits there bringing neither light, nor joy.

Great fun, changing colors and portable - take it anywhere!
The media could not be loaded. Lucis is more fun than I expected. It is a square that can be charged and then placed anywhere. There is a tripod that comes with the light, mine came broken, as it was not securely packaged, just lying in the box. But a little wood glue was able to fix it. However, the tripod is not really needed as it has a square base that can simply be placed on a table. It comes with a little modifier cork that can fit a wine (or vodka) bottle if you really want a stand, or one can use a camera tripod for a taller floor lamp. There is a little magnetic metal triangle on the light that keeps it off, once you take that off it lights up if you press any of the touch buttons (little white circles on the surface of the cube) or shake it 3 times up and down. Touching the 2 light changing icons simultaneously turns the lava lamp mode on or off. The lava lamp setting is not a real lava lamp setting, it just changes the light from light to dark orange and back, so it should probably be called something else.Touching one of the light changing icons just changes the colors or you can shake the light. There are also 2 other icons - one for dimming and one for brightening. If you touch them both together - a bright white light comes on that can double as a torch. If you touch all 4 together - not hard to do since it's a cube - it turns on or off. Or you can shake it 3 times. The color lights on this are ever changing and go from soft to dark shades of pink, magenta, purple, cobalt blue, aquamarine, green, yellow, orange, and so many other shades. This is the most fun part, the moody lights are fun to look at. These will be a hit for a party where you want to keep the room pretty dark and play some music. At the brightest setting, it's still meant to be a mood light, so it's not an option for lighting up the room. Since this does not involve any flames and if charged does not need wires, I see it being a hit for dorms or smaller spaces. I tried putting a mirror behind it and that created a nicer glow. This light is also nice for a bedroom, or for a kid's room, I am having fun with it, and can't wait to show it off at the next party. They get extra points for giving a charging plug rather than just a USB cord, and the plug goes from 110-240V so you can use it or gift it in other countries. It will just need an adapter.Though Lucis is a ton of fun, I am giving it 4 stars due to the broken tripod, and the weird triangular "coin" that resets the light. There is a keychain, and you can use the magnet in the triangle to stick it to the chain, it's still easy to lose. I hope they come up with something better.Another problem is that even when not plugged into the charging cable, it thinks its charging and has a pulsing red glow and is unable to turn on or off unless I stick the magnetic traingle back on it. Also when the room lights are off, the four white icons that are white on white, are nearly impossible to see, it was tough locating them to change the mode. The price is pretty high at $69, and the tripod is rather ugly for the $20 price tag, especially as mine arrived broken. I would rate this to be a terrific product if it was half the price around $35 (without the tripod), but right now only 4 stars.

Great mood lamp
Got this as an alternative to a traditional table lamp. Easy to use and looked fantastic! Long battery life and very portable. The preset modes (lava lamp and torch) also worked well. Will definitely be getting a couple more!

Great idea but the functionality is too complicated to remember.
If you have to constantly refer to the directions for operation, there's something wrong. While I do like the features that the LUCIS Wireless Lamp provides, I just cant remember how to use them. For example, does pressing the dot with the 3/4 circle around it change the color of the light or put it into lava mode? Wait, am I supposed to push both dots with 3/4 circles to change the color? It's just too confusing to remember when nothing else in my life functions like this. Let's talk about touching "buttons" for a second. Sometimes they are responsive, sometimes they are not. At least the brightness button (a sun) is easy to figure out. What exactly is "lava mode." It's not clear in the directions. It looks like a color changing effect to me, but did I push the right button sequence? An app and/or remote would make this much easier. I understand that might take away from the "touching" aspect of the device, but it needs it. I still cant figure out the color cycle either. How many touches to get the shade of blue I like? It's not all bad. This light excels with it's portability and brightness. If you need soft light it's there. If you need bright light it's there. But you will need the directions to remind you how to set it to which. Portability is great. This can replace your old school battery operated touch lighting for sure. As long as you remembered to charge it. Take it anywhere. The available tripod mount works great, but there is an additional bottle mount. So if you only have a bottle of wine, that will do.Three shakes to turn it on and off. It must need a specific angle to accomplish this because it doesn't work that way every time for me. Based on my use of it, I think it's straight up and down.
