XYLEM Flojet 01740300A Pump Mini-Strainer

Our RV water pump was not holding pressure and cycling but we couldn't find a leak. Also, when on city water, water was back flowing into our fresh tank. I opened the water pump up and there was a bunch of plastic shavings stuck all throughout the valves, presumably from work that was recently done on our fresh water tank. After removing all the debris, the pump worked perfectly. I bought this filter to prevent this from happening again in the future.Super easy to install and no tools were required.As cheap as this item is, I absolutely believe it should be included with the pump, but it is not, so get one. You will be happy you did.

First I had to relocate my pump 3 feet to a spot under my RV bed I could actually reach without dislocating my shoulders! The strainer was simple to just plug into the waterline at the pump. Now I can easily winterize the RV and clean the strainer.

I might have just got a bad one! However tried it twice, cap and strainer popped off twice. Both times made sure it was on all the way and secured. However when pressure applied it popped off causing water loss in water pump area. I probably could have wedged a small piece of wood in the clip area and made it work but just no longer trusted it to work so just returned.

Perfect fit for the Flojet 03526-144A Triplex Diaphragm Automatic Water System Pump. This snaps right into the pump and your water inlet piece snaps into this strainer. Screen comes out for easy cleaning. Glad I bought this. Crazy that a screen isn't implemented into the pump by design, but this overcomes that engineering flaw. Adding this strainer WILL add to your pump's footprint, take that into consideration if you're in a cramped space. Also you'll need to have easy access if cleaning the screen is required. If these are issues, you might be happier with an in-line variety that is easier to add to hoses/plumbing somewhere else than on the pump itself.

This was the third pump filter I ordered. The first two had a screw on bowl. I said this was the last one I was going to try. The first two either had an air leak or just too much volume or created a vortex and/or cavitation or ….However, this one works like a champ on the travel trailer water pump!!!

Price and easy to install.

The blue clip rattles when the pump runs. I remedied this with a piece of tape. A rubber band might work too.Otherwise, it does what it's supposed to.
