POR-15 45808 Gloss Black Top Coat - 1 pint

This phony garbage doesn't prevent rust. I used it on my '77 truck bed which is a 74 bed inside and out follow the directions exactly first taking my bed down to bare metal the whole thing follow the treatment procedures coated it with this top coated it with after it tacked up and then used the 415 primer on top of that the grey. I come back a few months later and there's rust coming through on the bed rails. I followed that procedure exactly decontaminated used all the whole system. From start to finish and it's rusting. And I just took a picture of The rust for another review butthis review thing on Amazon is so lame that I can't access that picture again in my phone to leave it on this review! The choice Amazon leaves me is click on a link to take another picture with the phone camera or click on another link that takes me someplace in my phone where the last picture I took for the last review is not located! In fact it takes me to some ridiculous folder in my camera where none of the pictures I've ever taken with my camera are!

This was my first time using POR-15 products and I must say that it performed flawlessly. I followed the directions about the metal etch and degreaser(POR-15) and then applied the product and thinned it slightly with medium reducer. It was a bit thin and ran on the first coat. I reduced the amount of reducer used on the second coat to 20% or less and then applied it. The gloss turned out better that I expected. I was actually going for it to coat a home-built bumper for my sons truck after he wrecked it. He had mixed emotions about the bumper that he helped build. After it was painted, he helped me install it and he is "Wowed" with how it turned out to say the least. The bumper was made from scrap left over pieces & POR-15 helped make something of it! Will be using this again in future projects.

I used this product for an iron stand for my chimnnea and it did not work well.

Did an excellent job for my outside handrail for my stairs.
