The most comfortable boot I've ever worn, but...
I'm giving these boots five stars but with reservations. If you're a normal user of "wide" shoes, as I am, keep in mind a couple of things. 1) I have the Targhee II in both regular width and wide, and if you put them side to side, the width of the base/platform of the shoe is identical. The "wide" version basically allocates more real estate in the upper, making the leather upper able to expand further, thereby accommodating a wider foot. For myself, who normally wears wide sizes in running shoes, I find that the regular "D" width Keen shoes are fine--Keens are known for having a wide toe box and unless you have significantly wide feet, normal sizes should be fine. 2) The wide version of the Targhee II is built to handle the widest of feet. While this is purely an aesthetical gripe (yet not one I'm willing to subtract a star for), for folks that have only moderately wide feet like myself, when you lace up to a satisfactorily comfortable and tight degree, the two halves of the upper are pulled extremely close together making the shoes appear quite different than what you see in the online photos. I don't particularly care about this but some might, as the shoe is definitely less attractive with the laces scrunched together in a tight sequence in the middle of the boot. Recommendation: Unless you have abnormally wide feet, just get the regular width. 3) DO order a half size up from what you normally do, despite what some of the reviews may suggest. I normally wear a 10.5W, in this case I ordered an 11W and I have just enough clearance up front for my toes. Whenever you're going to buy Keens, as sizing varies wildly among models and versions, always check the Keen official website for the recommendation on when/if to order a size up. Some of my Keens are fine at 10.5D, some are just right at 11W. Always check the website, and if you're ordering Targhee IIs then ALWAYS order a half size up. I own Danners, Merrells, Eccos and a number of other boot brands. Keens are definitely my favorite. They have stable yet amazingly cushioned soles and outers, and while this obviously translates to them being less durable, I'm willing to sacrifice longevity for the level of comfort I get out of these boots. Merrells are great shoes, but the wide toe box and material quality of Keens win me over. I paid less than $70 for both of my Targhee IIs here on Amazon Prime Day. Steal of a lifetime, and the reason why I'm a Prime member FOR LIFE. JTK

Great shoes for hiking/long-term wearing.
I really like these shoes. I need something with good arch support but also has to be comfortable because I wear them for hours when hiking. It’s a nice snug fit and they don’t rub my ankles - which is important to me because other shoes have rubbed my heel raw. I’m a taller person, so I need the good arch support because that helps to better align my entire back while walking. Definitely recommend these.

Updated review... Keen is junk with ZERO warranty support!
UPDATE: In the past, Keen was a good brand, with great durability. Now.... Keen is a worthless company when it comes to quality/durability, and warranty..........WARRANTY IS USELESS! Keen's warranty is so lopsided in favor of Keen, and you will never get anything from them under the warranty. My shoes literally fell apart within 4 months.... I contacted them about the warranty. Sent images, receipt images, screenshots of purchase info, and right from the start they throw up roadblocks. Went back and forth via email for a weeks.....pictures, and even video showing how badly the shoes fell apart..... they always have some excuse as to why the warranty won't cover it, EVERY time, a some point in an email or phone conversation this phrase came out..... "That is considered normal wear and tear, and is not covered under out warranty." WAY OVERPRICED SHOES, AND LESS THAN 6 MONHTS OF USABILITY BEFORE THEY HAVE FALLEN APART.....AND A WARRANTY THAT IS USELESS TO THE CUSTOMER! I don't know what happened to Keen, but they went from a good brand, to horrible in no time at all. If you buy Keen brand footwear, then make sure you buy a CASE of Shoe Goo, or similar product..... YOU WILL NEED IT! The lugs that wrap upward will be the first to start coming apart..... for me, it caused me to trip and fall! Even when you try to "glue" the lugs back in place, another one comes loose, and you spend more time trying to repair them then wear them! Shortly after the sole lugs start coming loose, the stitching starts coming out, and the soles tear away from the uppers. It's insane, trying to repair a shoe that for the high cost, should not be coming apart in the first place. Keen shoes/boots are without a doubt the most overpriced, poorest quality footwear I have ever seen! You'd be just about as well off to burn your money for warmth....because that's about how long these boots will last! UPDATED REVIEW: Less then 8 months with only wearing them about once a week, and the lugs have separated around the outside of BOTH soles! This is totally unacceptable for a shoe of this price! No way will I spend that kind of money for such lousy durability! NEVER AGAIN! THESE BOOTS ARE NOT TRUE TO SIZE! (They run small) I was looking at this boot through a local retailer, and glad I did. I tried on my normal size (11.5 W) and they were very small and tight. I asked to try on a 12W and it fit just right. They only had one pair of 12W at the store, and that pair had a defect that I wasn't willing to live with. I got home, looked on Amazon, and the same boots are $49 LESS! I ordered a pair of 12W, and they fit just right. This is day 1 with them on my feet, so we'll see how the comfort and durability holds up. If they start coming apart prematurely as others have stated in reviews, I will update my review/

If like me you suffer with painfull heels (plantar facilititus) and you like walking then its worth spending out on a pair of these. So confortable and supportive under the heel and general fit is really good. Generous in sizing and they don't make your feet look like " boats"!! I'm considering buying another pair and I would have no hesitation in recommending to others.
