Why did you choose this product over others?: This got good reviews. It’s brilliant is compact but the light is very powerful. My son took it camping for 5 days. The solar panel charged it during the day and he used it as a light and charged his phone as well. It also has a flashlight on the bottom. Excellent value am going to buy more.

The lantern works well and is bright enough to move around the house during a blackout or rummaging through the garden shed at night, but would not be your main lantern on a camping trip, it isn't bright enough. The solar panels are really only good enough to maintain the battery, it would take a year or more of sunny days to fully charge the battery - possibly longer. The hand crank is enough to get the lantern on, but you'll have to crank for half an hour to get ten minutes worth of light, so it's only good for emergency use - but I think that's the intention anyway. Generally you'll want to power the battery via USB. The torch is weak, but functional. In the write-up, it says you can dim the lantern by lowering the lights into the case, but this doesn't turn off any off the LEDs so it still consumes more power - but as it says, it will dim the light the lantern offers. The above comments are all negative, but the lantern is well made, collapses into a small package that is easy to find a spot for, and good value for the price range it sits in. If you want a camping lantern, you'll want something else, but if you want a lantern for emergencies, blackouts, and rummaging around in the garden shed at night, this is a good option. It is also useful as a battery for giving small charges to other devices such as a phone.

Awesome little lamp 👌🏼 I bought this for camping and it really is a good one compared to others I've had, easy to use, you can pull it fully up for brighter light or half up if you want it dimmer and has a solar panel so you can keep it charged while your camping, a flash light function for those midnight toilet runs and handles to hang in your tent
