Lightweight, heats up fast, and works like a charm – best value iron I’ve had in the UK
This is the second iron I’ve bought since moving to the UK, and I’m genuinely happy with it. My previous one was a budget option from another brand (maybe Brelil or something like that?) and it was just terrible — barely ironed anything, took forever to heat up, and felt bulky and awkward in the hand. In contrast, this Philips model is lightweight, compact, and heats up quickly. It glides effortlessly over clothes and delivers great steam, even on a basic setting. It also doesn’t take too long to cool down, which I appreciate. Despite being one of Philips’ simpler models, it performs far beyond my expectations. I got it with a discount, and it cost about the same as my previous iron — but the difference in quality is day and night. The ceramic soleplate hasn’t stuck to anything, even synthetic fabrics, and I’ve been using it with scented ironing water with no issues. The design is sleek and minimal, which I prefer over flashy colours. All in all, I’m genuinely pleased every time I use it. It simply does its job — and does it well. Highly recommend if you want a reliable, no-fuss iron at a good price.

Very nice product
Excellent product. Very nice price. It's not heavy, good size, not too big. Heats up well, glides smoothly. It has a way of cleaning, easy stuff, haven't tested but enjoyed very much that feature. Loved that they have instructions like drawings. Easy to understand. I would recommend.

Light and small water tank, but iron's.
A few things to not, the cable is really short, my previous one was at least 0.5m longer, wish I had checked. The water tank is way too small and empties rather quickly. The iron itself is actually really light, don't know if its a good thing or bad. Our previous iron was continuously getting scorched, now I don’t know if that was getting too hot because sometimes I feel like this doesn't get hot enough, I am convinced its the former. Well, in summary, its irons really well, need to continuously fill for large pile of ironing, but its really easy to iron with as its light. Only other minor criticism would be that my hand sometimes catches on the dial, but that’s a minor really. Please consider these points when buying.

Lightweight smaller iron
I have always bought Tefal irons, but my last one (which I purchased around 7 years ago) annoyed me from the moment I had it as, when it was in steam mode, it spat & spewed water everywhere. Having put up with this for a few years, I've now had enough, & looked for a new one. Interestingly, quite a few irons nowadays seem to have the same problem so it took a while to find one that had good reviews. This one fitted the bill. The massive plus point is, no spitting etc in steam mode, thank goodness. It's a smaller iron than some, but if you don't do huge amounts of ironing it doesn't matter, which I don't. Very lightweight which is a huge bonus. Easy to fill, although you do need to find the max mark before filling so you know where it is. All in all a lovely little iron. ☺️ Would recommend.

Perfect!
Great iron light weight and compact let's out just the right amount of steam even on econ setting with a nice comfortable handle too the plate feels smooth and fluid on everthing ive ironed so far, only thing is the cord isn't that long but if you've got an extension lead there shouldn't be a problem.

Design flaws make it annoying to use
A very lightweight iron which works quite well but I wouldn’t purchase again. The cord is too short and so light it gets in the way when you’re ironing, it has to be physically moved out of the way. Also, the cord has no where to be wound when you need to put it away , usually the iron is designed so the cord can be wound around the base for neatness. These simple design flaws make the iron a pain to use and I will probably replace it soon.

Great iron at a budget price.
This iron is great value for the price it is being sold at. Well made, sturdy and the Philips brand lives up to its reputation. I bought this to replace a well used but increasingly unreliable iron which I’d had for a few years. From the outset it felt nice in the hand after taking it from the box. Lightweight and with a decent sized reservoir so you have plenty of steam to set about your ironing pile. There are multiple steam settings on the iron but the ECO setting provides plenty of steam to make an easy job of smoothing out your clean washing. The heat dial is solid and feels very robust. As for the cable length, it is comparable with the iron I’d bought this to replace and I always use an extension cable so that I can iron in front of the tv. As has been mentioned by other reviewers, it doesn’t come with a cable clip, however I simply removed the clip from my now redundant iron which is off to be recycled so it’s not an issue. I’d suggest doing the same if it bothers you not having one. So in summary, this is a great little iron which made short work of a large pile of clothes in next to no time. I’m confident in the iron lasting for a long time as I live in a hard water area and use deionised water which prevents limescale build up. I’d recommend this product for those after a great quality iron at a bargain price.

Perfect for left handed people!
Only 4 stars as more designed for a left handed person, the cord is very short and not way to store the cord. The iron itself works well but it does tend to drip now and again. It's lightweight and very easy to use but I do recommend using an extension cord if you have a large ironing board like I do. My daughter who is left handed tried to 'borrow' it permanently as it was much easier to use the than her iron as the water access opens 'properly for her and the steam boost button is in a better position for her.
