Works with Steamdeck!
If you are looking for an m.2 2230 drive that fits in the Steamdeck, this one very much does! It's actually a WD SN530 in Dell Packaging but regardless it fits, the metal shielding round the original drive just barely fits around this one but it does get there. In my first game install during validation of files, it was reporting a disk read speed of 3.2Gbps so she is certainly beating out the SD card at least in that phase. If you're not a Steam Deck user and just wanted a tiny drive, I can report this one arrived well packaged and ESD protected and does indeed work at the expected storage space. Cant attest to longevity just yet but it's a good start. Little bit pricey for ssd storage, I paid £130 for 512GB however in this form factor it's about as good as it gets given shortages.

Cheap Chinese M.2, does not work.
I purchased this M.2 as advertised. Eventually it turned up, I opened the package only to find it was a cheap Chinese version. I followed the instructions from Microsoft and installed it into my Surface Pro 8. Although the Pro 8 switched on and tried to install from the downloaded Surface Pro 8 install program and USB files, it would not loads Windows 11. I tried many times on 8/12/22, eventually reverting back to my original M.2, small problem, easily sorted and Pro 8 was up and running. I tried again this morning, but created the USB install disk slightly differently, Again it would not boot into Windows 11. I have now given up and reverted back to my M.2 which still works. Item is packed, labels printed and it is ready to return.

The one I received was a WD SN740. I bought it for my Surface Pro 8, sadly this tablet has an issue with PCI-E 4.0 SSDs. It kept getting BSOD and random reboots. Found out that the issue lies at 'Link State Power Management'. If you disable this option in Windows the issues will stop. The Dell Website also offers the Firmware for this SSD, you can update it to the latest firmware. The performance is great and was indeed a improvement compared to the Kioxia BG4 I had before.

Damit kann ich neben OpenSUSE 'Tumbleweed' auch ein Win11 booten, und habe beides auf separaten Medien zugriffsbereit.
