Great for actors, too!
I’m an actor. I needed hands-free amplification for audiences of 30-300. I often have to perform at schools, which usually means performing in a school gym — which is horrible for acoustics. I previously had a big sound system with two speakers. It weighted over 75 pounds and was a huge hassle to transport and set up (lots of cables). I bought a single speaker unit to replace it, and it was complete junk — lots of hissing on the speaker, feedback, mics that barely worked, and a flimsey feel. I returned that for this one — the difference is phenomenal. I love with this unit. It never hisses. There is never feedback (use it correctly; do not place the speaker behind you!). The ear mic works perfectly, and it has a quality battery belt pack. It is easy to transport, super easy set up, and the battery life is more than acequate. I can be heard easily, even when performing in a gymnasium full of kids. I purchased a speaker stand separately, and it was well worth the extra $20 or so. I only wish Samson made a travel case for it. I’m very satisfied.

Broken receiver
Edit: they actually did respond, I just never got notice. They offered a partial refund which is appropriate and I am happy. Speaker works, replacement receiver works, refunded the price of the replacement part I ordered. Minus 1 star for the inconvenience.Works well, but the Bluetooth receiver that it comes with was broken so I couldn’t connect the headset. I reached out for a replacement and they asked for pictures, but never responded after that. Don’t know how to access that already started conversation/claim. I had to just go ahead and buy a replacement for an additional $50 some because I’m in a hurry and need this up and working.

Stereo didn’t work and a month later I’m still waiting for a refund.
I got this through Amazon and there’s no sound at all and I packed it up and sent it via UPS in the original box with all the attachments. It’s a month later and I am still waiting for a refund and it’s a very expensive item so I need that money back in my account.

Great for teachers in a noisy large classroom
My wife is a high school teacher and often came home with some throat from shouting instruction in a big classroom. This speaker and microphone has changed the game! It is easy to setup, loud without feedback noise, and comfortable (headphone). We left it charging all the time, so we didnt get to test the batteries. It didn't feedback loop noise, even at a high volume. You'd have to set full volume and speak right in front of the speaker to get any feedback. One one thing you have to watch out is the microphone's wireless connector on the speaker. While connected, if the speaker falls, the connector may break. It happened to me, I forgot about the connector and put the speaker in the car with the connector side down. It bent the connector, but fortunately it still works. A bit more pressure would have snapped it.

Very pleased!
When it comes to rechargeable portable audio, this gives you so much bang for your buck. Indoors, outdoors, either way it sounds great. The headset microphone performs better than expected and also boasts a mini XLR socket to accommodate for a replacement boom if necessary and the transmitter has a gain control in the battery compartment. I suggest getting two for greater overall coverage. Also, as a side note, the output of the system supports/drives the second speaker in sync with the first. Add a cable from the output of the second speaker into the input of a powered sub woofer (the bottom end is a bit light at higher volume levels) and you are set to party. If you want further control, pre amp everything through a small mixer with EQ control and you will enhance the ability of these speakers 10 fold.

No headset manual. None available online either.
Received this today, and will use this weekend as I teach my art painting class.Looks solid, sounds good. Still needs to be used to fully review. My one gripe so far is: there is no manual for the headset microphone. The manual for the microphone is for the beltpack only. Even Samson offers no instructions for the headset itself. Their site only offers a pdf "cutsheet". So no info on how to adjust it (I kinda figured that out on my own).I find that astonishing.

Great sound for the money
I bought this to present to large groups of students, and it works great-- easy to set up, and the rechargeable battery is a nice plus for when outlets aren't handy. I'm not a fan of headset mics, but this one was comfortable and unobtrusive (I didn't even notice it it my peripheral vision). My only "con's" are that there isn't a tone control (however, the sound is strong, clear and well-balanced) and I worry about the USB plug-in receiver projecting far enough out of the back of the speaker itself to be damaged accidentally by someone who's trying to help me by moving the speaker—but doesn't know there's something delicate in back. I'd also like to have a carrying case of some sort available, but if you're purchasing this to use it in one place, that won't be an issue.

Worked one time, never again
It worked fine for one single day of use. I went to use it again a few months later and it just won’t work. Won’t hold a charge, won’t turn on, even if I have it plugged in which is supposed to allow it to run, it won’t turn on and won’t ignite the dongle to allow pairing. Absolutely garbage waste of money, and I can’t return it even though it’s faulty.
