Review: This is a terrific story with humor that is really grabbing for kids. It's a combination of a cute story, a nice introduction to Rome, and a great motivation of early readers to read it on their own! We're going to Rome for vacation soon, and our daughter, 6.5 years old, now can't wait to see the Spanish Steps, the Coliseum, the Campo, and more. I had been worried whether the Sistine Chapel would be too difficult for a child her age, but now, after reading about the adventures of Dodsworth and Duck there, she insists we absolutely must go to the Sistine Chapel. Review: Such a fun book. My students really love reading about the adventures Dodsworth goes on. It a good way to get reluctant readers engaged.

This series is great fun for you children to early elementary. My 6 year old loves to read them and my 9 year old still enjoys them for a quick family story. We have re-read several times and purchases as gifts, as well. Dodsworth adventures are always entertaining!

I would recommend this book for the 4-to-8 year-old set. It is set up in an "easy chapters" format. It introduces a bit of challenging vocabulary with, especially for fans of Dodsworth, a predictable plot line. The characters arrive in a new place, see some sights, survive mayhem, and reconcile. We love-love-love this series!

My son says, " I like Dodsworth books, they are silly" he is a struggling reader it's nice to have a book that keeps him entertained and want to read more.
