I wanted the ability to shoot faster shutter speeds for my Hasselblad H4D, and be able to get rid of the cord and hold the flash off to the side. Got these last night, charged them, and tried out using 1/500th of a second exposure time, f5.6, rear-curtain sync, and these units were fast enough to work well. The only issue I had is that I was trying a new wide-angle lens and the flash didn't cover the entire area well, but that's my issue; I need to spread the light out with a diffuser. I'm happy with this because it fits in my camera bag on the camera so I won't need to keep taking it on and off. There was another review that I read which said the test button didn't fire the flash immediately. But the instructions don't say that the test button should fire the flash, as I understand them it is just a way to verify that the receiver is paired up properly. Another review said that the power button is difficult to use and the batteries die because it is easy to leave them on. The instructions say that if you power it by pressing the power button for a short time (like 2 seconds) there is an auto-shutoff feature that should save the batteries. If you power it on by holding the power button longer (I think 5 seconds) it will NOT power them off automatically. I can't talk about battery life because I just got them, but when I turned them back on after they were off all night, they showed (via green LED) that the batteries were full still. So I think possibly just getting used to how they operate is necessary and the other reviewer just missed those subtleties in the instructions.

They are very small and light. Since they are so small, they don't bother me at all even on my small cameras (e.g. Ricoh GR III or the Rollei 35). They are very easy to use. They work out of the box. Turn both on an you are rredy to go. No complicated pairing necessary. They work fine with all of my old analog cameras (including those that don't have a battery) as well as with the new digital cameras. They sit securely on the camera and on the flash. Without wobbling. They also work with most of my flashes. (Some old ones have a to high trigger voltage, so I dont use them. with tht T2). It's wonderful to be able to flash unleashed with all my cameras and flashes. What I don't like: -The workmanship could be better. E.g.: There is a piece of plastic film stuck to the top plate, which quickly looks unsightly and may come off completely one day. Don't believe everything that is written in the negative reviews here! -Of course you can find the instruction manual online. -Of course they work not only with flashes with 3 contacts, but also with flashes with one contact. (It's logical: the transmitter and receiver do NOT have three contacts!) Of course you can use any flash that has one contact. And also TTL flashes that are intended for certain brands. The middle contact is used, the others are ignored. Of course in manual mode only. -The battery is not empty after one night! It lasts a very long time. In addition, they both switch off automatically after 30 minutes. (According to the manufacturer: "Transmitter per charge: 80 hours operation and 120 days standby. Receiver per charge: 10 hours operation and 120 days standby") -"Even when I try to test the flash by pressing the button it does not fire instantly. I have to hold for about 4 seconds to fire." That's exactly what it says in the instructions! Short press = increases the power level. Long press = test. Not that difficult to understand. RTFM. - It's not true that it only works up to 4 feet. It's well over 30 feet. - Yes. Rarely does he not fire. But very rarely, for me about 1 time in 100. (Do these users know that some flashes take a long time to recharge?) - My FlashQ X20 works wonderfully with my Richoh GR III
