Men's Fluffies Casual Crew Socks

I have a hard time finding women's Goldtoe socks in my size, color and style. Thought I'd try these in men's small. They fit perfectly, not tight around the ankles. So soft. Bought a second set.

Gold Toe is the Gold Standard for casual and dress socks. White Gold Toe Fluffies are my go to socks with khakis and shorts. Black ones for my dressier days. Good thickness, soft fabric, absorbent and cushioning, snug but never tight, washable and long lasting. Once you go Gold Toe, you'll never go back to the generic plastic elastic socks on the bargain rack. Why buy cheap socks that end up in the back of the drawer and and don't get worn? The socks with the greatest value are the ones you actually wear. Go the extra dollar with Gold Toe that you will definitely always find yourself reaching for when its time to don the foot gear and head outside.

So, as a quick look through the reviews of these socks will reveal, there was a point where Gold Toe was going through a dark phase and failing to produce quality socks. Many of the Fluffies from this era (let's call it 2009-2013) would start falling apart almost immediately, with large threads coming loose and significant holes opening up for no reason (other than the shoddy quality of the materials and workmanship). It was a somber time for those of us that had come to know and love the Gold Toe Fluffie, which is probably alone among dress socks in providing a nice balance of comfort, warmth, dryness, breathability, and sharp looks. The conspicuous decline in quality led to Gold Toe being banished by several department stores that had carried them for decades: they refused to foist defective crap on their customers. That's why so many of the other reviewers have found these socks hard to find in their brick-and-mortar stores. For a while, I sought a replacement brand, but no other could match the Fluffies: the competitors' thicker socks were often too heavy and trapped moisture; others were too thin and provided no impact cushioning or protection from cold and snow. In despair, I tried ordering from Amazon and hoped for the best. It worked out. Gold Toe has heard our complaints and responded -- the socks are now well-built and reliable. I waited for some time (and numerous washings) to see if these would begin falling apart as their slightly older siblings had, but they have held up admirably. You may order in confidence.

My husband likes these socks which he finds warmer than others during the winter months. The quality is not as good as it used to be. Much thinner.

In my photo, the new socks are on top, washed several times, the original socks are below, washed hundreds of times. These new socks are not like the originals, different weave, too tight around, and too long for my foot, difficult to pull on due to tightness. I washed them inside out to try to get rid of all the sock bits that got stuck in my toes during the day, but , this did not help, still make a mess of sock bits in the shower or walking across the carpet after I take the socks off. I was asked to choose how does it fit, too large or too small... both, too large length, too tight girth. I would return these, but I had washed them when I got them, hoping they would fit after washing. I had had read that gold toe had gone downhill, but, I live abroad, and was hoping to relive my past sock experiences when I ordered these. Do not buy these, they are not like original acrylic gold toe fluffies.
