It’s much better than ACT Made Simple which seemed poorly written. Review: Excellent manual for ACT therapists - Easily the most well-written treatment manual I have read to date, for any therapy model. It's focused on trauma therapy, as the title says, but there's very little in here that couldn't be applied to other areas. If you are interested in ACT then I would recommend this book no matter what your clinical specialty might be (although it's written with adult clients in mind, so more work would be needed to use it with kids).

Superb resource for ACT rookies
This is a comprehensive guide to implementing ACT in your therapeutic practice. I’m thoroughly impressed with the author’s breakdown of not only the theory itself, but the major techniques that make ACT shine. As someone who has leaned on CBT and Solution-Focused therapy for a decade plus, I’m grateful to have more research-driven interventions at my disposal for my trauma clients as well as others.

Only half-way through and already worth the read!
Really appreciate this trauma-focused look at ACT - lots of useful interventions and metaphors in here. Still working on try to use from intake on but already finding goodness in terms of practical use of what is described on these pages.

Informative and Useful
I have been using ACT for many years in the therapy practice and bought this book wondering if it was much different to the original ACT textbooks. While it covers a lot of the basics again, there is lots of new material. I found the 'extra bits' that the book refers to (you have to access these for free on the website) to be very useful with clients. This is a great addition to the ACT library and anyone who uses ACT in their practice should have it on the bookshelf.
