I have recurring problems with hip alignment due to a herniated disc in my back. I also shuttle around my son and work at a desk all day. I can DEFINITELY notice is difference in my posture and comfort when using this. The pad is quite thick, even when you sit on it, which might lead to problems if you are a tall person with a little car, but my 5'8" frame made it work in my small suv with some seat adjustment. I did find that if you kind of slide into your seat like I do, you will have to readjust the cushion once a week or so. That got annoying for me. So, after months of using it there, I took the cushion out of the car and now use it on my desk chair at work (where I sit for longer periods of time). I bought this for the last leg of an extensive road 4-day road trip that involved 4-6 hours worth of driving each day. I'm a 6' tall male and weigh in the mid 170s. This seat was initially comfortable and did seem to alleviate some back pain, but at the end of the trip I had an uncomfortable feeling under the seated area where the opening is. I decided to try this on my Aeron chair and experienced the same thing after giving it another try for a few days. It appears thick, but the cushion seemed to flatten out quite a bit, which may have caused the opening area to feel uncomfortable. I then switched out the cushion for another one I have for pack pain, which does not have the opening, but does have a small curved inset at the rear of the cushion and did not experience the uncomfortable feeling anymore. I was hoping to experience "maximum comfort," but I wouldn't recommend sitting on it for an extensive duration.

Firm, comfortable cushion that really helped my sciatica, but the top is very slippery to sit on. I use it on my office chair wearing dress pants, and if I lean back in my chair my butt almost slides off of it. If they fixed the top of it to a non-slippery surface, it would be perfect. Too bad - I am sending it back

I use this cushion with my office chair and in the car. When I drove across 5 states and back it removed much of the pain I expereinced in my hips and lower back. Now that the trip is over, I use it on a very basic office chair. It forces me to sit more ergonamically correct for the hours I'm required to sit for work. It smelled odd when at first unpacked for even a week or so, now it is gone. This is a great inexpensive option to try if you are experiencing pain from long hours of sitting.

I give it a four only because I've had it for 4 months and it's already lost its form and the size front to back can be annoying at times. Mind you I spend around 6 hours a day at my computer editing photos and even more time gaming. I had a TEMPUR memory foam cushion (photo 1). But it was fitted my genitals and I felt airtight. GenX Car Seat Cushion is the second cushion I bought and I was satisfied with it. - It's NOT memory foam. It's "High-Density Rebound Foam". - It didn't go flat and it is not too firm to let me feel uncomfortable! - It is more breathable than TEMPUR cushion. - The base has non-slip rubber. (photo 4)

I had to return this.Bought for my husband who has tailbone pain but this cushion did not help him. It seems too small to be comfortable. No problem at all getting a refund including postage.
