POP Rocks: Freddie Mercury King Multicolor, 3.75 inches

This Freddie Mercury Pop is a gift for the wife, Queen, her favorite band. I knew it was gonna be cool but, that’s an understatement. Very impressive in person, so much detail. Including stripes on the pants, and shoes. The chest hair is a very nice touch. I believe this is the outfit he wore in the movie, when he threw that huge house party in his new mansion. Can’t help but feel a little emotion, remembering Freddie. This sits on display in the memorabilia room, up high away from the pets. This Pop is an eye grabber, stands out everywhere. Love it. One by one, I hope to gift her the whole set of Queen.

I was skeptical about buying such a little toy for myself. But I have enjoyed Queen for many years and couldn't resist when I saw this collectable. My new little Freddy figurine is quite adorable. It is well made. I love the detail in the crown and costume. I do feel like he could have been made with just a little less hair on his chest, though.

My best friend of 35 years had one of those milestone birthdays recently, and among the other gifts I gave (including a portrait I did of Zappa, being a professional artist myself), I just had to include Funko Freddie dressed in the trademark royal garb he came to employ across his stage evolution. One of rock n roll's finest vocalists, with operatic talents, this particular figurine captures most grandly the magical spirit Freddie possessed. Dynamic detail head to toe that few other Funkos match . And as a present from one decades long guitarist (myself) to another decades long guitarist (my friend), and harkening back to days when we skipped way too many requisite college classes in lieu of jamming and recording original tunes in our dorm room, Funko Freddie proved a smashing hit, captured here as the incomparable showman and talent he was. Epilogue: eventually I did get a B.A. in Literature then my Masters degree... but our music was nonetheless my fondest memory of those indulgent days. Now to collect The Beatles, our favorite all-time group! The Funko rock star issuance shouldn't be overlooked amidst all the superheroes for that fan or musician you want to make smile.
