Useful as study guide

More and more IELTS reference books written in Japanese have recently been published since STEP, or Eiken-kyokai, took over the actual administration of the test in Japan. However, how on earth can those who still have to rely on Japanese be eligible candidates for studying at universities in English-speaking countries? This book published by Cambridge University Press should be part of necessary conditions to take the IELTS, which is managed by the University of Cambridge. I haven't finished this book but just reached roughly halfway, but it actually helped me get an overall band score of 7.5. The "Test tip" columns arranged beside exercises are in particular helpful.

Thanks to this book I passed my academic IELTS. I got band 8 even though I only needed 6.5 to get accepted in Uni. It works both as a teacher instructed course or as a self study guide as it includes answers. I found the sample answers for the writing tasks and the suggested vocabulary particularly useful!
