Sweet Zero: A Fizzy Affair
As a software engineer who’s always looking for healthier alternatives, I picked up the Zevia Zero Sugar Soda Rainbow Variety Pack to see if it could satisfy my occasional sweet tooth without the sugar crash. I’ve been drinking these pretty regularly for about three weeks now, usually in the afternoons when I need a little pick-me-up while working from home, and sometimes with dinner. The main thing that sold me on these was the zero sugar claim, and honestly, they deliver on that. I was a bit skeptical about "naturally sweetened," but the taste is surprisingly good, not overly artificial or syrupy like some diet drinks I've tried. The variety pack is fantastic for trying out different flavors; Cream Soda and Cola are definitely my standouts. I haven't noticed any weird aftertaste, which is a huge win for me. They seem to carbonate well in the cans too, no flat issues so far. Durability isn't really a factor for soda, but the cans arrived in good condition, no dents or anything. One of the biggest decision points for me was whether it would actually taste like soda and not just flavored water, and Zevia really nails that. The flavors are distinct and pretty spot on for their soda counterparts. They mix fine with my usual spirits if I’m having a weekend cocktail, no clashing flavors. Performance-wise, it's a soda, it’s refreshing and fizzy. Pros: The taste is genuinely good for a zero-sugar option, no artificial sweetener funk. The variety pack is excellent for sampling. It’s nice knowing it’s naturally sweetened. Cons: Some of the fruitier flavors, like the Orange, were a little less impactful for my personal taste, a bit too subtle perhaps. And honestly, the price point is a tad higher than conventional sodas, but that’s expected for a niche product. I’d say this is perfect for anyone trying to cut down on sugar, diabetics, or just folks who are health-conscious and don’t want to sacrifice flavor entirely. If you’re someone who expects a super-intense, sugary punch from your soda, you might find these a bit milder, but that’s the point, right? It’s a solid alternative for those of us who want something that tastes good and is better for us.

Dr Pepper alternative
Dr. Zevia is a great zero-sugar alternative if you like the classic “Dr.” soda vibe. It has a bold, slightly spicy cherry flavor and feels light and refreshing. The only downside is the stevia aftertaste, which can be a bit bitter, but overall it’s a nice guilt-free soda option.

Tastes just like diet cola
I have these on subscription! An amazing and healthy alternative to other diet colas. I have to drink it from a yeti cup, though. Why? Because it is clear in color and my brain wants to mess with the taste. If you drink it from a cup where you don’t see the color, tastes just like diet colas!

Great Zevia value for 24-pack / tasty!
No caffeine and this brand is WAY less costly by the case compared to smaller packs. I think the Ginger Root Beer is far more tasty than the regular Root Beer.

Sensitivity to natural sweeteners? You might want to be close to a bathroom when drinking this
I have ordered this a few times now, and the more that I drink it, the more that I really love it. Now, I do have a favorite root beer (Boylan Bottling Natural Root Beer Soda), however I don't always have $50 to get it. It is what it is, and I just got to make do. It was either a choice of this (Zevia) brand, or another cheaper alternative. It was the "creamy" part of the description that made me want to try this one. Now, when I got them, I did try one next day (after putting some in the fridge). It was surprizingly, really, really good! And, there most definitely was no aftertaste. It was super "creamy", and very delicious! Kind of related (sorry for TMI), but I do (or, did) suffer chronic constipation. My doctor had me not take any more OTC laxatives as they were making my situation far more worse (as in, they just weren't working). So, a few years ago, he started prescribing me Sorbitol (this is a sickeningly overtly-sweet sweetener/ laxative). This stuff tasted so nasty, and I had the hardest time downing a dose. Enter in, Zevia... I was not at all, expecting any (medicinal) results from drinking Zevia. It tasted relatively good, so I was happy. But, within just half a can of consumption, I found myself running to the bathroom. Like every single day, half a can, and I just had to go immediately! So, I decided to look up "stevia", as I had never had that, and found out that it is in fact a natural sweetener. So, if you have a sensitivity to natural sweeteners as apparently like I do, you may want to counter in that fact, before you buy it. Now, I am usually at home (at any given time) regardless, so I prefer to still drink this (almost daily) for how it helps to correct my chronic problem, as I seem to no longer suffer it now while drinking Zevia. Sorbitol, is not recommended to take every day, only as needed. So, with drinking just a half can of Zevia, and I'm going that same day, well I can honestly say that I have not been constipated for months. Now, I recommend drinking this straight from the can, I drink half and then put plastic wrap over the top and will drink this next day. I say this, about drinking from the can directly, because the color of it is very off-putting, I mean if you are used to drinking (normal) root beer. When you pour Zevia into a cup/ or, glass, it is crystal clear. And, I feel like I'm not drinking root beer, which then (kind of) mars the taste for me. If you suffer chronic constipation, I'd recommend giving this a go, as it tastes a million times better than just straight up Sorbitol. All in all, I'm really glad I tried this, as it is now a permanent staple in my diet.

Great soda, lousy packing / boxing.
The soda is great, and because it uses Stevia it has zero impact on blood sugar! My problem is that it is always badly boxed, with the box being significantly larger. The packaging is so loose inside that the 24 pack packaging itself is ALWAYS damaged. I can't pick up the soda without it falling apart and the soda going all over and often bursting a can. The crumpled paper inside the box is absolutely useless because of the weight of the soda and the very minimal amount of the paper. So I recommend the soda 100% but not how it is shipped!

Somehow came a bit flat
As much as I loathe drinking air, and usually zevia is mostly carbonation, you take a drink and the entire volume of that drink turns into bubbles/carbonation, leaving no liquid behind, so I usually pour the drink into a cup and back into the can anyway, so that I'm drinking a _drink_ and not flavored _air,_ but even so, these were flatter than even me doing that, almost completely flat. Perhaps I just got a bad batch. (That's a terrible run-on sentence. I haven't had my zevia, today; my brain is running on fumes.) Update: the amount of carbonation is inconsistent, sometimes I can only pour it into a cup and I know that pouring it back would make it flat but the problem of excessive carbonation remains. Whether I buy their energy drinks or their sodas, most of the time I have to moderate the carbonation. This issue is less prevalent among their sodas yet still there most of the time, though obviously as I previously stated some cans are flat while others are excessively carbonated. I always have to have a "taste test" when I open a can to see how much work I'm going to have to do. That being said, I enjoy the flavors well enough. The cherry is disgustingly strong so I mix it with a normal cola (I buy colas on the side since they're my favorite so it's not a problem to do) and the cream soda is disgustingly sweet. I usually mix it with a little bit of X.O. just to temper the sweetness. The root beer is borderline too sweet, might tempter that one with vsop if I'm not feelin how sweet it is but still want it. But obviously all this really chalks up to personal taste. I know my little sister loves, adores tons of carbonation but she said she didn't like these because they were too sweet. I like them well enough even though they need to be tempered. I will hound this page until the 12-flavor Rainbow Variety comes back because I want to try it so bad why is it the ONLY one not available???
