Perfect for the balcony/deck with little room to spare!
I absolutely love these! I don't have a lot of space in my back yard, and the small space that I do have tends to be occupied by dogs quite often. Not the best thing for plant-growing! So I got four of these to line one of the rails on my back deck, and they are really wonderful! The 30-inch version took a whole bag of potting soil per planter, and I was able to fit two of them on either side of my railing on the same stretch of rail. My success with the plants therein have depended on the individual plants, but that's due to no fault of the planter. The only thing I did notice is that originally I put two of these on one side of my balcony and two on the other; the second two were in an area where they got a lot more wind, and it would dry out the soil almost immediately after watering. Once I moved them over to the less-windy side of the balcony, the problem was fixed right up. Definitely will purchase again!

Strong and durable and includes cocoa liner
After reading several reviews on these planters, I purchased 4 for my black iron railings at the condo I'm renting (2 for the front porch and 2 for my balcony in back). They sure look beautiful and are very well made. They arrived quickly and were packaged snugly 2 to a box. Hardware for each planter was packaged separately and attached securely with cable ties. The hardware can be assembled to use the planter on a wider wood railing or fence BUT, as in my case, can also fit over a narrow metal railing by turning one bracket, attaching wing nut from inside framework, and not using the second piece (recommend saving for possible use later). I purchased separate cocoa liners because even though the photo shows a liner, the description did not say anything about them being included. These planters DO come with cocoa liners! My flowers were doing well but because I live in Michigan, I had to bring the planters in for a couple freeze-warning nights. The planters lifted off the railings with ease, without having to undo any hardware, and went back on with no problems either. I absolutely love these planters!

Attractive and useful
I measured before ordering, so this is the perfect size. I purchased two, one for each side of the railing leading from our back door to the patio and we've planted organic herbs in both. The hanging hardware is all included, although since we're having the baskets hang on the outside of the railing instead of inside on the stoop, the black hook coming over the white handrail is a bit unattractive. Our handrails are about 5" and no tools were needed to put the screws in and adjust the hooks to the proper width. The bracket that comes all the way down to hook over the rail itself would fit a 2" handrail better than our 1" thick handrail, so it does stick up a little, rather than lying flat. We can either pain the brackets white or use a couple of screws to mount the piece of the bracket that holds onto the basket railing itself, so we have options. These are intended to be used on the front side of a deck railing, but can be used on the back side if you don't mind the mounting hardware showing or want to take a few minutes to adapt it to your needs. The coconut lining is thinner than most I've purchased at big box home stores, but it's attractive and serves my purpose.

Love this planter
I really like how this fit and looks on our deck. It has hangers so you can hang it over the railing but they didnt work for us so we just screwed it into the deck. I wish the hangers were adjustable in depth. You can adjust them in length. Our top rail isnt deep enough to use the hangers. Otherwise I really like it alot.

Excellent Sturdy Window/Porch Planter
Excellent sturdy window/porch plant box. Just what we needed to add a pop of color to our front porch. I’m very happy with the quality and size of these planters, they finished off our patio perfectly. They come with brackets that allow you to mount them on a rail without having to screw into your deck. Which is awesome if you don’t want to damage your rail. The brackets are made to fit a 2 inch railing, they are adjustable for width, but not adjustable for depth. I was able to use the brackets, they fit only because my rail has a small lip. To ensure they don’t slip I added zip ties, just to be cautious, Which is fine with me. These planter boxes are pretty deep and can hold a lot of soil and lovely plants. I highly recommend them.

A thing of beauty... and quality
I was hoping for something acceptable but thought I might be disappointed upon delivery. Oh, how wrong my assumption was! The metal is a hefty weight, the size is generous and it's simply well made. I wasn't expecting the fiber mat to be included but to my delight, it was. I now have two of these planters and they were installed on what should have been my "she-shed" but has somehow turned into a man cave/barn. Oh, well. Maybe next time. The planters are beautiful and the perfect accent but let me assure you that they would look just as beautiful on a mansion. This was a great purchase and I get real sense of satisfaction when I look out at the structure. The fact that it's a man cave/barn...not so much.

Great planter
I have three of these now. One I've had for a year and the other two I just got this year because the first one was so useful. I use them for keeping an herb garden on my back porch right outside the kitchen door, so whenever I need fresh herbs, I just pop out to my handy planter and there it is. I did notice that the hardware has changed from the planter I got last year to the one this year (the metal bars that clip to the railing are thinner now) but it still attaches securely and I haven't had to replace the basket material in the first one yet. It's still solid and holding the soil fine. Must be good stuff, too, because I've seen a couple birds out there stealing pieces of it to make their nests. :-)
