Race Tech's Motorcycle Suspension Bible (Motorbooks Workshop) Review: Great read - Worth the money. Very practical. If you want really understand the hows and whys of suspension this is a great book. If it was possible to gain real world experience by reading, this would be one of the books that would be able to transcend reality and make it happen. Excellent read and a great reference to have on hand. The book covers the basics through the advanced topics well. Lots of good pictures, diagrams, and illustrations. These reduce the anxiety factor a lot. After the theory there is a large section on actual tear down of different forks and shocks. Step by step photos. Covers dampening rod forks, inverted cartridge forks, emulsion shocks, reservoir shocks, progressive shocks, and more. If you are redesigning or doing major chassis modifications on a street bike you will also want Tony Foale's "Motorcycle Handling and Chassis Design the Art and the Science" to compliment this book. Good riding to you. Review: Detailed and Technical - Everything you would ever need to know about motorcycle suspension. It’s very detailed and some of technical information is a bit over my head, but I still got a lot of information on suspension that I never knew, but needed to know to be a better rider. If you’re serious about your safety riding, this is a book you should get.

Very good information for DIY guys
Purchased performance suspension both front and rear for my Kawasaki KLR 650. Not a pro mechanic at all but an enthusiast, as such planning on on doing the job, in that realm this book is great because it explains all needed information that would be needed so that at time of working in on the bike I will have plenty "theoretical" experience which is a lot better than just taking things apart and end stranded. Great book, great condition and great delivery !

The Authoritative Suspension Book
A comprehensive book on motorcycle suspensions. It gets fairly technical at times, but the basics are understandable enough for a novice. They plug their own (RaceTech) products, but they make some of the best in the industry, so I don’t fault them for that. I can’t imagine you’ll find a better book on the subject.

Technical Suspension Guide - book review....
I was told that this was considered "The Bible" for people wanting to learn about suspension for motorcycles. Wow, all I can say is that is a very technical dive into the world of suspension. The theory and concepts were clearly explained. After that, specific examples are given showing the suspension in use on various motorcycles. As a great bonus, the last sections in the book give a pictorial step by step example of how to work through a project on forks or shocks. They give an estimate of the time required, tools involved, and the steps required. Between these pictures and a little flipping back into the book I was able to tear into the shock on my CRF, alter the shim stacks, change the spring, and put it all back together with nary a misstep. It's that good. If you are thinking about working on your own suspension, then you need to get this book!!!

Great book
This book is Fantastic. If you are looking to understand the inner workings & theories on motorcycle suspension I do not think you will find a better book. Having just a little mechanical knowledge and an inclination to liking mechanical/technical subjects you will find it easy to comprehend. If you have no mechanical aptitude, nor basic motorcycle riding experience, obviously you should pass on this. At first glance the books contents may seem overwhelming. But if you read carefully, and make sure you comprehend the concepts BEFORE you turn to the next page (I re-read some pages a few times and studied the diagrams closely) you will find that by the end you have a wealth of knowledge and understanding on the subject. Suspension tuning it seems is kind of a "black art". The right tools, years of experience, experimentation, and knowledge are needed to be a good suspension tuner. If you are looking for a good start to doing any suspension work yourself this book gives you a big leg up on the subject. If you're looking to have someone else do suspension work for you this book is invaluable as you will be well versed in understanding what YOU are looking for, and you will be better prepared to speak the "language" of the subject, as well as judge a good tuner from a "tinkerer".

Must read motorcycle suspension bible for beginners. And must have quick reference bible for experts. DYI'ers, grease monkeys and hands-on motorcyclists will love the simple, no-nonsense and practical approach to understanding and setting up motorcycle suspension. The math included is mostly very simple and easy to understand and implement practically. They do push their products quite a bit in the book but then again their stuff is top-of-the-line and this book does give a good description of how it all works.
