Games Workshop Warhammer 40,000 Paints and Tools Set Box

The Citadel paint set I bought is great and have already started painting with my new paint set. The paint works like the way citadel said it would and can be thinned down to make an even coat over any surface needing painting. The brush and tools are great in model building making edges clean cut and being able to remove excess plastic. The small tool is the best for removing or smoothing out the surface after parts have been cut from the sprues. The pliers cut cleanly making a much neater and finished look when removing models from their plastic sprues. Great kit, great price would buy from this seller again.

Awesome product

The package arrived in a timely manner and just before Christmas which I loved! Upon opening the shipping packaging, I did notice the box was a little banged up in spots and I was worried about the condition of the products inside.I opened it up and the tools were still wrapped and seemed to be okay. I did go through all the paints just to check them, they all seemed to be sealed and in decent condition! They were a bit separated and congealed, but that seems pretty reasonable for shipping in the winter months.I will update this post once the paints and stuff have actually been used! It's a part of a Christmas present, so the Warhammer model hasn't arrived in the mail yet!

These boxed sets are awesome because you get a lot of value from the paint pots, 12 are very useful, and only Astrogranite is a good technical for basing. The tools outside of this product are worth half the value, and containing 13 pots of paint & technicals (easily a value of $65) these kits are well worth it for someone looking to get into the hobby.

Great product, although there were some minor defects. The clippers that come with the package have some slight manufacturing defects, like this black stuff on the sharp edges that looks like it was only partially filed away, but functions just fine. Also, the box the paints came in was badly battered in shipping, maybe add a bit of bubble wrap or something? All paints were sealed and tested great. Also arrived more than a week ahead of schedule.

These paints are fine, but while I like the look of the paint pots, they are a pain to work with. They are hard to open and close, and paint often drips off the lid's tongue down the back of the pot unless you mess with it. Also, the paint color variety is more suited to Warhammer than D&D, which is what I'm working with. Just not enough earth tones available.My biggest complaint is how thick and gritty the gray is. Good color, but it just seems bad. The wash is excellent, though, and the metal colors do look nice.In the end, had I bought the Vallejo set first, I never would have spent the extra money on the Citadel paints as a second set. Vallejo is easier to use and has a better color assortment, in my opinion.
