Lovely this Moka Coffee pot!

I love this Moka coffee pot. Just one thing I seem to be doing something wrong. Sometimes the coffee grounds come through to the underside of the top pot. Has anyone else found this problem? I can’t believe it needs a new filter after only 2 weeks of being used twice daily.

One decent cup, and good build quality.

"4 cups" is just a late stage of capitalism and marketing doing it's magic, and not brand-specific exaggeration. It will be just one medium cup - 150 - 160 ml. Perhaps you could get two small cups with some practice and experiment - about 250ml of brewed liquid.Put the described amounts of water and coffee in it, use low heat and immediately take it off when the magic starts. Don't try to get out more coffee than it's designed to make and you will be rewarded with nice crema on top. You will need to open the lid and shovel crema into your cup with a spoon as you pour - or most of it will stay attached to inner sides of the pot while you've poured all the coffee out.I like it much more than no-name moka pots. Good little device. If you need much more coffee, 2 big / 3 small cups from one brewing, you have to get a bigger device - 6 cup or 9 cup classic moka pot.

Makes a nice espresso

We already have the classic Moka Express but bought this as my partner likes decaf so needed a second pot. It looks good but not as nice as the classic machine to my eyes. The difference is that you get a crema on top of the coffee. When you pour it from the pot it the first cups don’t get as much crema as the last ones (you could spoon a bit over if you wanted). Honestly the flavour is very close to the standard machine but the creamy top makes a big aesthetic difference to me. I would recommend

Mamma mia !!!

The cream is beautiful . Numero uno 1 I would rate it 10 stars but unfortunately we have only 5s!

Awful quality control

I ordered a bialleti brikka 4 cup, when it arrived I put it on the induction hob adaptor plate and heard sizzling, took it off, wiped the bottom and placed it back on, exactly the same happened, it turns out that there’s a pinhead sized hole in the base. I ordered another, it came through today. Exactly the same thing happened! Looking inside there’s a pit in the casting and then a pinhole in the base, I boiled it through anyway but the sizzling got worse. Really not impresssed with the quality control at bialetti. I’ll be returning both for a refund and looking for a different brand of coffee maker.

Almost a "fragile precision instrument"...

Likes:+ Can brew SLOWLY (like over 15m) to extract wads of flavour+ Easy to close tight enough by hand+ Flavour is nice and strong as I like it, lots of crema foams outDislikes:- My previous moka pots all had the pressure relief valve just above the max fill level so you can see when there is enough water. This one has the relief valve far above the max fill level, and no fill marker on inside of base so you must measure the water before filling. Shows lack of thought and lack of "we eat our own cooking".- The instructions forbid tapping the coffee holder to remove air pockets - doubtless as it's now made of light fragile aluminium instead of stainless steel like in my previous bialetti - so you can't clean that in part in the dishwasher either. Cost cutting taken too far - i still tap it but do it very carefully and I wonder when I am going to have to buy a new coffee holder part because I tapped it too hard and dented it enough to affect the working- The new internal pressure valve that increases the crema is also a cheaper aluminum design without the heavy steel cap used in my old bialetti - I imagine it will be a devilish job to try clean out if you don't remember to do the monthly flush with a little vinegar. It seems to be a one way valve as the base remains with a little vacuum in it that releases when you unscrew the base after the pot has cooled - that also makes me wonder if it's already blocked up with dried coffee.- Not made in Italy- Bad Quality control : There was a little nick on the top of the base threaded part, which I feared would let coffee drip out of the join but the rubber gasket coped with itIn summary I think it works great initially but have doubts how long it will be before something breaks down due to excessive cost cutting by using less metal and cheaper aluminium every where...

Works well

The product works very well. Like all coffee makers it took a little time to get it right. But now it produces a pretty good espresso with a good crema head. Not quit as good as an espresso machine, but really close. Also not nearly as expensive. It’s a very neat trick it pulls off to get a creamy espresso. I’m very happy with it and a little surprised it works so well.I use one measure of filtered water with the device supplied, then nearly fill the coffee container. I do not tamp it down. This produces a consistently good espresso, which I can recommend. So for it’s price a really good buy

After a dodgy start, I LOVE my Brikka

When I first got it it simply didn’t work, so rather than mess about sending it back etc. I took off the head bit and re-seated the silicone widget…since then it’s worked perfectly and the coffee is lovely..with a shed-load of crema. Works beat with Benelli coffee which you can get for the same price as most other brands. Love it!!!!
