High Quality Mother Culture to Grow Effective Microorganisms for Gardening
Why purchase ProBio Balance Mother Culture and Brew it myself? I have experienced that effective microorganisms EM1 are valuable for the garden providing healthy soil and a healthy environment for plants raised in hydroponics. I also found them valuable as a foliar spray to help protect plants against disease and pests. Using it in composting is valuable as well to turn fruit and vegetable scraps into garden nutrients quicker to grow tasty crops. I soon discovered I needed a larger quantity of EM and most of all, value for my money, so I searched reliable Internet sources and found how to brew this product in various batches using the 20:1 ratio. I purchased the mother culture and the product instructions are clear and easy to follow. The product expiration date is clearly stated on the label and the bottle is sealed helping to prevent loss during shipping. In my situation I harnessed the temperature range of my summer greenhouse (80- 100 degrees F.) and bought a 6.5 gallon brewing bucket and a 3-way airlock , 32-ounce jar of black strap molasses. I used the bottle of mother culture, the entire jar of black strap molasses and added 4.5 gallons of filtered water at a comfortable bathing temperature. Gently I mixed the mixture in the bucket with the lid secured and the 3-way airlock activated by placing some water in it to the required level so the gas from brewing can escape through the airlock. Otherwise I would have to burp the brew daily-no thanks. The microorganisms will multiply. The batch will be ready to test in 4 -6 weeks to determine if the ph is 3.0 - 3.5, which is considered an ideal range. It will smell and look like the EM1 in color and consistency I have used before. Then I can start using it and store it in airtight bottles kept out of the light and heat. I use 1 ml EM1/ liter so in my 60 liter hydroponic reservoir I use 60 ml. When using it as a foliar spray I use 10 ml per 1 liter of water in a sprayer dedicated to this purpose. It is recommended to use effective microorganisms monthly to help maintain a healthy environment for your plants immune system and so plants can use nutrients properly and grow efficiently. The functionality of the ProBio Balance mother culture and posted effective date on the bottle you can easily brew a smaller batch in a smaller container to match your gardening needs for a steady supply of EM1.

Thanks SCD Probiotics
Thank you, SCD, for making the best quality microbial products at a fair price. Effective Microorganisms are so overpriced.

Literally teaming with beneficial microbes 😍
I haven't used this product on my plants officially, but from using em1 I can confidently say I'm sure this will go above and beyond the lactobacillus bacteria which was amazing for my food forest! I am inoculating some "Royal oak" natural wood charcoal I got at home Depot. Crushing it and inoculating it with this plus fish bone meal, kelp meal, alfalfa, crab shell meal, and maybe some langbenite. I love "garden like a Viking" on YouTube. He shows you how to do this step by step. He uses a homemade lab so I think this product will level it up a bunch with all of the added beneficial microbes. I mean.... I just used my kids microscope I got them for homeschool, and you can see how the pnsb lights up like shooting stars in space. 🌠😍I just loved sitting there watching all of these amazing tiny beneficial microbes. It was mesmerizing. So great to literally see it in person. Can't wait to make more and use it on the food forest! Update**** I've used this in conjunction with my banana fertilizer that I made from the recipe from garden like a Viking as well as adding a bit with my Neptune's harvest fish fertilizer and all my plants are waking up and putting out more fruit than we've ever had. These beneficial bacteria as well as pnsb is a great addition to my fertilizing routine. Read the studies on pnsb bc it's freaking amazing in itself. I make a gallon and leave it near a window to increase pnsb population, but not kill the other beneficial bacteria from the sunlight while doing so. I plan on adding this while making worm tea and doing a foliar feed to help add chitanase to the foliage and combat the bad bugs. Love this stuff. Already have so many friends and family turned to using it.

Highly recommended
This product was highly recommended to me. While it would be difficult to quantify the observed benefits I feel confident that it has improved the health of my orchard trees and most likely the soil surrounding them and without the introduction of potentially harmful inorganic chemicals. I especially like the concept of innoculating with beneficial microbes to breakdown the organic matter that I'm adding to the soil as well as strengthening the bark of the trees against harmful microbes and pests. It seems highly respected by organic farmers. The dilution factor also means that though it seems expensive, you do get a substantial quantity for innoculation. I'll keep using it.
