Python Brass Adapter

If you own a Python this is the replacement for the original brass fitting that came with your Python it fits the standard size sink faucet (after you remove your aerator), mine worked for years on my bathroom sink until I replaced my sink and did not realize their is a junior size which uses a 13/16in male aerator, I tried several things including the rubber clamp adapter that Python sells, don't buy it as it doesn't work in almost all cases. Purchase a 13/16 in. x 55/64 in. IMPORTANT: this adapter works with the original adapter, just take out the rubber washer from the old and attach the new adapter to this one which will fit your junior size faucet. Hope this helps someone, it was a real pain to figure this out for me, can't believe Python doesn't sell a all in one for the junior size faucet.

This works perfectly. No leaks, solid construction, no problems at all. Do not order the plastic version, which has no washer, leaks, and breaks very easily.

This is a great adapter to fit various faucets and then allows you to connect to a garden hose. It has internal and external threads making it very universal for kitchen and bathroom faucets.

I was using a plastic adapter on my python, and it kept slipping out of the faucet under pressure, plus it was 2 piece, and often unscrewed instead of coming out of the faucet. This piece has a Teflon liner, and holds perfectly in the shallow threads of the faucet. Well worth the money. It doesn't leak when screwed in, and no more slipping apart.

If I had known that Python now ships with a brass adapter I wouldn't have ordered one - bowever it's always good to have a back up and I keep it for my tanks that are on a different level of the house. Python has been around for just about as long as I've been keeping fish which is over 35 years. I haven't used one in decades but decided to get a new one and check out the improvments. Not much has changed but the brass adapter is a major step up from the old plastic one. Those wouldn't last very long, the threads would strip away entriley after a few uses an the seal was never complete enough to stop water from spraying everyplace - but it STILL beat carrying around those buckets! This adpater is pretty universal and should fit most any faucet. Theres amale and female side, if you have a diffuser or water saver on your faucet simply remove it and pop this one in and you're good to go.

I received a used Python system that was missing the pump and sink adapter so had to order both of those replacement parts. If the standard size hadn't fit, I would've taken my aerator to a hardware store and asked for help with matching the adapter. Luckily I didn't need to do this because the standard size is a perfect fit for me! I'm thrilled that I can now do water changes much more easily and with reduced potential for mistakes.

A bit pricey but works out of the box, doesn't leak and is high-quality.

Looks like a quality product, certainly a lot better than my plastic version so it's not likely to get thread damage. Happy

This is a long term review as this was bought December 2017 and used a couple times each week to this very day. I've been using venturi valves for years and years as I find these are a ' no muss - no fuss ' solution to changing out aquarium water. That being said all of the venturi valves I've ran across over the years are a all plastic type design, my latest one as well. The venturi valve also goes by another name which is also sold here on Amazon, search the keywords on Amazon.ca for " Python 13B Replacement Pump " and you'll get what I'm talking about. The issue with an all plastic design means the threads that screw onto the faucet are also plastic. Metal faucet threads + plastic venturi valve threads = a very short lifespan. It is extremely easy to strip the plastic thread and since I've done this more than once I wanted a 110% permanent solution. I hit up Amazon and took a look to see what I can find and I came across this listing. Exactly what I needed. It was purchased, it arrived, it was installed. My permanent 110% solution worked like a charm. The only issue I had was that since the plastic venturi valve threads were stripped I needed to epoxy this brass Python adapter into place to have a strong water tight seal. A quick 5 minute epoxy was all that was needed. Might not look cute and pretty but it sure does work. I've been using this setup for years without fail, without issue. Metal faucet threads + this brass adapter = life much easier ! This is a quality made chunk of brass. The threads are nice and crisp without any sort of burr. I also do like the rubber seal as it's affixed to this adapter so it can never get lost. If you need something like this I KNOW you'll enjoy this adapter just as much as I.
