Its a rubber stop for your winch line. It works as it should. If you dont stop using the winch , the winch will destroy it. But i assume people know that and what it for

Our tow rope was getting worn and torn due to a metal splinter in our tow guide. This stopper does not protect the rest of the rope running across that splinter, but it does protect the end of the rope toward the hook that is most vulnerable. it also keeps our hook from jamming into the guide. we live in rural Alaska and are hard on our 4 wheelers, but this helps protect our tow rope as well as anything can. UPDATE: 1 removed 1 star because 2 weeks into winter and the stopper broke. I can’t imagine that it was because of the metal splinter, but we do have a foot of snow covering a large area and are constantly raising and lowering the plow, so we may have just been too hard on it.

This is an exceptional simple product consisting of two rubber halves that screw together to keep a winch cable from jamming into the fairlead on the winch. Nevertheless, without attention to detail in the packing process a lot could go wrong - such as screws that are too short, washers missing, wrong size matching nuts, etc. However, in my case all parts were in the kit, they matched perfectly and they even provided an Allen wrench to tighten the screws. I'm very pleased! :-)

Was worried it would be too large for cable vs synthetic rope but fir just fine

Once installed works as expected. A couple problems with this unit: of 4 bolts supplied 1 did not have indented Allen in top in other words no way to hold it still while tightening nut - used vice grip to hold it. Instructs not clear as to how close to hook it was to be mounted. Also holes to tighten nuts too small had to force 1\4" drive socket in and use pliers to get it out. Suggest you pay more for better unit.
