The most comprehensive and accurate guide to enterprise cloud available
"There is no compression algorithm for experience." Jonathan and Thomas are two of the world's leading experts on digital transformation and enterprise cloud. Jonathan led the successful cloud migration at Capital One, and Thomas at Experian. Since then, they've been working with executive teams at the world's largest companies (with over 500 between them) to help them transform their business using AWS. These guys are the real deal. By combining their first-hand experience with what they're seeing in the field, and by developing a set of common patterns and anti-patterns of success—what works and what doesn't—they've effectively created a how-to manual for CIOs to transform their business using the cloud. There is no other book on the market that covers these topics so comprehensively and accurately, backed by years of real-world experience driving transformation and helping others do the same. If you're an executive planning on adopting cloud for your enterprise, or are simply curious about how it is done, this book is for you.

The practioner's guide to AWS
If you want a mix between business and technical run down of all aspects of moving to the cloud on AWS, this is your book. Architecture patterns, how you should think about availability, etc. There's a paradigm shift that you need to go through when you move to the cloud, this book is the quickest way I know to make the transition. Full disclosure: Jonathan and Thomas are my old teammates at AWS. Our team collectively met with thousands of senior executives. Jonathan and Thomas know their stuff. Hats off to them for collecting this important body of knowledge.

Practical advise for any leader migrating to the cloud
Full of personal, first-hand experience that anyone who's worked in or around technology can relate to. If you're at all unsure about how to navigate your personal or your company's journey to the cloud, read this book to learn from those who've already done it.

Excellent!
Very pragmatic advice for business and technology executives with lots of real-world insights. Both of the authors have experience in the trenches of large-scale enterprise cloud migrations — well worth the read.

propaganda in some parts, it's not all magic
the mainframe pieces are complete garbage. IF and that's a HUGE if, if you can get your mainframe over there it will never run anywhere close to the same and when you figure out that it costs you more than buying a new mainframe and maintaining it. In addition to that, once over on AWS good luck on getting that mainframe stuff back I have seen several try portions of this and they could only take 1 - 2 weeks on AWS and now they are having huge issues getting back to mainframe. It's also costing far more money to do so.

I bought this book right before the summer holidays, it was a really nice distraction from all the recreation, as it pumped slot of knowledge into me. I had to giggle on the or the other statement which sounded just so familiar, but also got new insights I did not have before Strong recommendation, not only for those involved with the cloud business..
