It works exceptionally well for me. I have a great setup
I bought this antenna to see if it would provide at least a decent enough connection with campground hotspots. I paired this with some good WiFi (n male to n female?) cable and a Alfa AWUSO36NH High Gain USB Wireless G / N Long-Rang WiFi Network Adapter, and I have been very pleased with this set up. At one campground I was about 125 yards from their router which was inside of their building. Couldn’t connect with my laptop, but had full signals with the antenna propped on a picnic table and pointed towards the office. At a campground in Tok, Alaska, I was quite a distance (about 250 yards?) from their router, and was told that there was no internet signal in my section. I sat up the antenna on the ground, pointed it towards where I thought the office was, and got a decent enough signal through many rows of trees and through other campers. If I had the antenna higher I’m sure I could have streamed video. I told the manager the next morning that I was able to connect. She was surprised and asked how. I just said that I had a directional antenna 😉. Another time, in Canada, a campground had a very, very, weak signal from only about 30 yards away. I put the antenna on top of my travel trailer’s slide out, aimed it towards the office, and had a full signal. I watched a NetFlix movie that night. I’ve even used the antenna with it sitting inside on my camper table, pointed at a campground office or a Walmart, and had excellent results. There are many more examples, but one final example is a test I did before taking the antenna out on the road. I lived in a mobile home park by a bay and was the 3rd lot from the water. Across a small section of the bay is a peninsula with a city park. I went there and hooked up the antenna, aimed it towards where I thought my mobile home was (about 300 yards away), and, across the water, and through some mobile homes, I was able to connect to my router That was inside my mobile home and I was able to stream video. So... I’ve had very good luck with this antenna, and I would buy it again. Things I don’t like is that it’s large and bulky. But that’s why it’s so damn good. When it comes to antennas, size matters. As does the antenna gain, which this one is 24 dbi. And use the best and shortest amount of cable you can get and afford; you get what you pay for here. You’ll also need a network adapter, and I highly recommend an Alfa AWUSO36NH High Gain USB Wireless G / N Long-Rang WiFi Network Adapter. Don’t forget to purchase a cable adapter for connecting your WiFi cable to the network adapter. I’m looking to devise a mast for the antenna for traveling, and/or a tripod.

Bad instructions; Good product (IF you have the right adapter)
This works very well if you use the right wifi adapter; though the instructions for antenna assembly are atrocious. These are either the second or third worst instructions I've ever encountered. And this is not my first rodeo. I've hacked through the obvious 'Chinese to English using Google' type of instructions in the past. (Some of those actually have the redeeming value of being hilarious to read out loud.) Admittedly, this is not a complicated assembly. However, the one page instruction "booklet" that is packaged with the product wield be better if it was just replaced with an image of the assembled product (displayed at a good angle, of course.) Instead, you get a perfect side view (which makes discerning orientation impossible due to the complete lack of a dimension.) The image has some helpful labeling, followed by four steps written in broken English. It boggles my mind how instructions that could be easily rewritten by a ten year old consistently accompany so many tech devices. NOTE: I originally connected this antenna to a Rosewill RNX-N600UBE dual-band wifi adapter. I was sorely disappointed. I could see the presence of many more APs than with any of my other antennas; including two Yagis I had made, which both worked quite well (15 & 20 element.) Yet there was no noticeable increase in any AP's signal strength. Note this thing is BIG, so I was really irritated after having put in the work to assemble and mount it. only to find no real benefit over anything I already had. And the others are pretty compact antennas, unlike this one. In a last-ditch, "what-if" attempt, I replaced the Rosewill adapter with my Alfa AWUS036NH. That did the trick. It literally doubled the signal strength of almost every AP that it was picking up. So for those of you not seeing the results you were expecting, maybe trying a different adapter could improve your situation. P.S. The "Frequently Bought Together" section has an RP-SMA Male to RP-TNC Male cable adapter. This is probably NOT what you want. It will not fit on the antenna's N type female adapter. You will need an N Type male to RP-SMA adapter. Connect the adapter directly to that if you can (unless weather is a concern.) The shorter the cable, the less signal loss you'll experience.

Did the trick for a newbie like me.
So, this is the first time I ever dealt with anything like this and all I wanted to do was improve my modem's wifi for my home. I found out that my nearest tower was 4 miles away so I decided to go with this antenna instead of another omnidirectional antenna seeing how it can do 24dbi I was sure it would raise the modems CINR & RSSI. What I was getting from the built in modem was weak - 70 RSSI & 18 CINR so during peak hours my internet speed would drop to a meg or two and sometimes I felt like I was on an old 56k modem. Watching youtube video's was sad and gaming was impossible so I gave it a shot and this is how it went: CINR is steady at 36 RSSI is steady at 46 Both are without perfect positioning to the tower 4 miles away but just general directioning, The signal is always stable even in our windy area of the high plains of Texas even though I do see a little wobbling of the antenna. Overall this helped solve my issues with slow internet that was jittery and would not give me a stable connection. Having this enables me to beat cellphones and other modems to and from the tower so 5 stars all across for performance, stability, and construction.

Nice unit, and it holds it self after a year of service 45 feet in the air in the cold and hot Canadian weather. For distance...well any common since dude guy knows WI-fi will only travel max a block are two so don't hope to get 2 mile range Even with alfa 2 watts amp. Im able to view tons of hot spots with this Sat but getting any speed on wi-fi more then a block away...good lucky. Not so much because of the antenna it self but because of the wi-fi.limits. For me this would makes the best antenna i could buy for my money, compare to others. Remember its a good size and its made to be outdoors. If you want antennas to work proper write to your local MP or governor to let average joes higher watts of power limits for public use...have fun with internet providers...
