Cutie and the Beast Vol. 1

Pure sugar!
I thought the synopsis of this manga alone was adorable, but the cuteness inside was even better than I'd hoped for.Momoka is a high school senior. While her friends gush about their j-pop crushes and swap issues of whatever the Japanese version of Tiger Beat is, Momoka only has eyes for pro wrestler Kuga. He's 29 and she's 18, but her enthusiastic tweets in response to his wrestling matches always brightens his day, and it's not long before their Twitter banter blossoms into a real-life romance.I'm officially obsessed. I can't believe there won't be another volume out until the end of January! T_T This series is an instant fave.

Very cute story
I love "opposites attract" stories, and stories about people who don't seem to have a lot in common at first glance, and this delivers well on that premise.I was a little skittish at first when it came out that Momoka is still in high school, but they handled that part of the story with maturity and precision (partially by having her be 18).It's a very feel-good kind of story, cute and heartwarming without being too cloying or cutesy.

Adorable
This is an adorable read! Totally going to have to read the rest of the series! It is an age gap book but a sweet romance.

Cute story, but kind of awkward. The age gap isn't the worst, but it's not exactly the most appealing thing either.Looking forward to the next volume.

Totally a cutie story!
The story is about a girl, Momoka who is a huge fan of a Pro -Wrestler, Kuga. Long story short, age and people's prejudices about age were going to keep an 18 year old (which in America is considered an adult) away from a 29 year old when it is so obvious they love each other. This is an honest to goodness cute love story so far. It is a welcome break from the smexy Manga I have been reading. Honestly, it would be a welcome break.

Wholesome grins and sweet cheek kisses
Kuga, the 29 year old, adorable gentle giant, and Momoka, a typical eighteen year old wrestling fangirl, hardly seem like a perfect match. But her timely, positive cheerleading over Twitter catches his attention and he starts looking forward to seeing her replies. If you’re into wholesome, face-splitting grins, look no further. This first volume doesn’t give us much backstory but their barely budding relationship was so satisfying and hopeful that I didn’t mind at all. Already preordered volume 2!

This was cute!
3.5 starsThis was cute!Though I'm unsure if I'll LOVE the series, I definitely LOVED how much I could relate to Momoka! As someone who met their significant other while in high school and facing that same "looming" age gap and others perception on that, it can indeed lead to heartbreak. Thankfully, my husband and I stayed together despite what others said and are very happily married of 10 years. Due to my own personal experience, I really enjoyed that aspect of the story and seeing the struggle handled so well (and accurately).I was a little unsure of how I would feel because at the beginning it felt like things went slightly fast, but it's implied I think that they have been messaging back and forth for quite some time? I was sort of surprised by the ending, but it was sweet.I definitely like the pro wrestling aspect! That's something different in manga and was a fun aspect. Kuga is definitely VERY sweet!Looking forward to diving into the second volume!

So cute!!!!
The story is so cute but it is so obvious that I don't understand Japanese culture! Is it illegal to be with an 18 year old? Why would he loose his career over that? I don't even see a big deal over an 11 year she gap since my husband and I are 10.5 years apart. Either way I am looking forward to reading the next one

Misleading and Creepy
The blurb says this is a light-hearted romantic comedy, but there were no jokes and it wasn't funny! I was expecting something along the lines of jokes about a heel struggling to maintain kayfabe while out with his girlfriend. Nope! It's about a 30-year-old creep dating a high-school fangirl off of Twitter. Gross, yuck, nope.Go read Way of the House Husband if you want a cutesy manga about a tough guy.
