McCambridge Bread Tin Bakery Irish Soda Bread Kit, Pack of 6

I recently tried the McCambridge Kit, and it brought a much-needed taste of home right to my kitchen. As someone who's living away from Ireland, there's something really special about the familiar smell and texture of Irish soda bread. This kit made it easy to recreate that warm, hearty bread I grew up with. The instructions are straightforward, and the bread turned out perfectly soft, dense, and with just the right amount of flavor. It’s a little slice of nostalgia that makes being away from home feel a bit more manageable. Highly recommend if you’re missing that authentic Irish touch in your life!

This bread is soooo delicious and so simple to make. I have just found out I have a food intolerance to yeast so bought this as it doesn`t contain any yeast. After reading the reviews I followed the advice of others and put the mixture in a bowl with the milk and mixed with a wooden spoon, rather than adding the milk to the bag and massaging to mix as per the instructions. This ticks all the boxes of being easy to make and being so delicious.

This had clear instructions and produced a tasty loaf within the hour from start to finish. The idea is to add the liquid to the ingredients in the bag, seal it and then 'massage' the liquid into the flour etc. I suspect I didn't do this slowly enough as the mix was runnier than it should be at first. Next time, I'll add the liquid in smaller quantities and see if that makes a difference.

I have been subscribed for a few years , my renewal notification has just arrived. The latest increase if not justifiable for my continuing the subscription . The bread is great , but not the new price which has frequently increased. The latest subscription increasing from £19.03 to £27.95 , making me wonder is it now blessed before leading the factory ? You can live with the odd leaky mixing bag and straightening every baking tin, as part of the whole experience but not this type of increase. I searched for this as Amazon are good at sometimes offering the highest price 1st, over £41 seemingly is the current non subscription price. Do the maths per loaf, wow. Really sorry but I'm out sorry 😞 Update : Following my review the price has since dropped to a more realistic price 👍

I first tried this as per instructions- mixing in the supplied bag-, not great , turned out very crumbly and some hard bits. Second attempt I used my mixer with dough hooks , this provided a much more even texture. I added a small amount of melted butter and a tablespoon of honey and Wow- absolutely delicious result. The baking tray provided is excellent the bread comes out evenly cooked and doesn’t stick at all. I baked it in my airfryer for 35 minutes at 180 and it is perfect. Just to add my mixer is just a cheap and cheerful Murphy Richards not an expensive one but it has made all the difference to the result. No matter how much you try to mix it in bag it just didn’t work for me. I will definitely purchase again, this has been the best soda bread I have ever had, the only problem being it’s not going to last long as everyone loves it! UPDATE Realised using a mixer not necessary- just transferred mix to a bowl, added the buttermilk with tablespoon of honey and some melted butter and mixed through with a wooden spoon , still easier with better results than mixing in the bag- absolutely perfect and delicious. Will definitely be making regularly.

Just like being back in the old country. This is bread mixture is a must have and so easy to make not messy mixed in a couple of minutes. Everything you need is contain in the box except the box accept the milk. The taste is superb and the text no mess no fuss just lovely McCambridge Bread Irish Soda Bread Kit. With a cuppa and slice with butter and jam or toasted it is fab!!!
