Radium Metal Element 88 Sample Ra Watch Hand, Check Source, Inside Labeled Glass Vial

I can't verify the actual source element, but appears to be genuine. The glow is faint, possibly painted with phosphor to enhance glow, but I didn't test for phosphor. Doesn't matter to me. The radioactive source on a watch hand presents the history from Radium Girls as a fresh reminder of the sub-atomic power. Great to add to the collection.

Really the only way to get this element anymore. You get exactly what is pictured. Sometimes you have to wait awhile to get in. They don’t always have it in stock.

Like others who have reviewed this, I got out my Radiacode 102 and two other detectors that I own and got (taking normal background into consideration) effectively NOTHING. I did also notice that hitting this watch hand with my UV flashlights really lit it up green - brightly - and then when removing it from the UV the green glow decayed pretty rapidly. I might have expected at least some detectable radiation from this item.

Well it is radioactive, so radium no doubt. No longer glows from the radioactivity, but I expected that. Strangely the phosphor glows with UV light - why? Have read others report such from old radium, but no explanation why. Only beef is it is tiny - like for a very small watch.

Came in 10 days early. Shipping was weird to track but arrived fast and intact. The dial is very well contained, no leaking of anything that i noticed on arrival. Packaging contains the radiation very well.

The radium is ok.

Unfortunately, I can confirm the hand sent to me, is not radium. Tested with Radiacode 102, and a RadEye b20. Seller needs to invest in a radiation detector so they can confirm their samples. I received this as a gift, I'm advertising they request a refund. I'll gladly send this standard glow-in-the-dark painted dial back to China.

This is not as advertised. Tested with Radiacode 102. Absolutely no radium.
