This candle burns evenly to the very end. Smell is not overpowering and is very nice. As for longevity and value: Absolutely worth it all the way around! (especially when they're on sale!!)

Great summery scent. We ordered three more to always have on hand as a lot of places are out of stock. Highly recommend if you are looking for a beach smell to your home.

One of my favorite scents, it almost has hints of baked cinnamon buns somehow despite the scent being "seaside woods"; but that is very much a good thing. Most "wood" candle scents smell too smokey or powerful but this one doesn't at all.

I've bought this candle many times in the past and have given it as gifts...and have recently bought it again...and here's why! I've read all the reviews, both pro and con, and I understand everyone's point of view. I find this candle completely unique and every time I burn it, I am immediately transported to a sunny, carefree day from my past when I practically lived at the beaches all summer long in Maine which is my home state. This memory is so strong and vivid and when I discovered this scent, I knew that I could relive those moments -- and the crazy, hectic times in which we now live just seem to disappear. All thanks to a candle -- wow! Scents are very important to our being -- just as taste, sounds, touch and the special times in our lives. Thank you, Yankee Candle, for making this sea, sand-and-sun-filled candle available!

The scent is fabulous. I have been purchasing Yankee Candle products for years and I reuse the lidded jars for the kitchen and bathroom pantries. I wish they still made the small size as the jars are perfect storage for spices.

These are the best smelling candles. They burn for a long time, smell great and warm up the house with a fabulous scent. The lemon is my favorite.

There's one thing you can be sure of; light a Yankee Candle and the scent will fill the room. My wife and I have been buying from the YC store in the mall for years and are rarely let down by their products. We love the large jars, and when we saw this Sun & Sand on sale, it was too good to pass up. It arrived in good condition and we tried it out immediately. While it is lovely and burns evenly, my one quibble would be that the scent could be a little stronger. This one isn't as "in your face" as some tend to be, and I find it to be mild but pleasant. It will permeate a medium sized room but not be overpowering. The Yankee Candle site describes it as, "A tropical beach breeze of sweet orange flower, lemony citrus, fresh lavender and powdery musk". I find it hard to differentiate the various elements, but it is certainly reminiscent of the scent being at the beach with the hot sun on the sand, fresh towels, and various suntan lotions from other beach-goers. There is no indication of ocean and there isn't much if any of that sweet piña colada scent I associate with sunscreens of old though. It is mild and dry, but I like it. It would be the perfect candle for a beach cottage. The fragrance notes are: Top - Orange Flower, Freshness, Citrus Mid - Orange Flower, Elemi, Eucalyptus, Lavender (I looked up Elemi and it is similar to Frankincense) Base - Neroli, Powdery, Musk The projected burn time of 110-150 hours is generous but achievable if you keep the candle lit for no more than 6 hours at a time and trim the wick after each use. The jar itself is solid with a fantastic lid, and it is almost a shame to recycle it after the wax and wick are spent (search uses for old candle jars). All-in-all I'd recommend this to just about any candle lover, but keep in mind that scent preference is very subjective. ~ Kort

Gross smell. Cannot smell coconut or vanilla . It’s also not black, at first it glowed rusty brown , now it’s a berry red. Not sure how to describe this scent- rotten potatoes?
