David Walliams is a good actor and a great author. He's funny and human-not all that happens in the books is happy or sweet but is is HUMAN and FAMILY. I love that my grandson now owns 11 of his books and he lends them to his cousins who must always give them back!! Review: Another great book by David Walliams - My 13-year old still enjoys reading and laughing at Walliams' humorous characters and always gets to read a second time to me while I am driving or running other chores, so I get to laugh at it too. I recall disliking only one book by this author and it was Ratburger. I found it too gruesome for kids, but from Mr. Stink to The Ice Monster, it has always been great!

A great adventure that both my kids enjoyed
One of those rare books that appeals to both my seven-year-old son and ten-year-old daughter. An English orphan sneaks into a museum to see the "ice monster" - a mammoth frozen in a block of ice. But is the mammoth really dead...? It's gentler than some of David Walliams' other books, and has more historical accuracy (resurrected mammoth aside). Think Dahl meets Dickens. Walliams fans will be glad to know that Raj's great-grandfather features.

We've read every single book by Walliams, and this is one of the best. The storyline completely infatuated my 9-year-old. I love that these books are so DIFFERENT! The imagination in these books is really unparalleled by anything else we can find in a bookstore. She really doesn't want to read anything else as they just pale in comparison to Walliam's books. Beautiful characters, fun storyline, lots of imagination and always the heart-wrenching love. A total winner.

So I am writing this review after i completed the book partially so PLEASE READ THIS BEFOR YOU BUY IT ! .first I'll say this book have two parts the first part is a large part more than half of book it have little less than 500 pages and 77 chapters each chapter is like 4-5 pages and a AFTERWORD. It starts off with charactor introductions, map of london and then the first chapter, THIS BOOK IS SURELY RECOMMENDED although this is long but intresting as david walliams have added alot of artworks I mean alot ! They are soo good nice and some funny it make the story interesting The STORY : is like a baby girl starts from wormly halls which is a house for unwanted child's she began her journey when she escaped from there she say the outer world for the first time she become a thief for survival and found interest in muesem where she found a cleaning lady name DOTTY then the entrance of the mammoth she then tries to bring it alive by the help of a scientist. They take the help of old retired military and a 100 yrs old ship and sail the Ocean.... and eventually this story ends at the north pole where the mammoth wanted to go. The story also included many other characters but I didn't wanted to add cos it becomes a SPOILER 😅. I do suggest to buy it THIS IS ALL HAND WRITTEN NOT AI GENERATION AND ALSO THIS IS NOT A AI ACCOUNT SO YOU CAN TRUST THIS REVIEW (COS I READ THE BOOK AND WRITTEN THE REVIEW) the book I recived was undamaged and the cover was surprisingly high quality the printing quality was excellent overall the cover and on the pages inside. If you find this review helpful then I will be happy to know that 🥰

Our 6 year old asked for this for Christmas, mainly because he is a massive fan of prehistoric times and was really interested in the Mammoth on the cover. We have read a few other David Walliams books (the World’s Worst Series) but these had been split into mini stories and we hadn’t had such a long book where he really needed to retain information about such a lot of text. We read it together as a family, our 8 year old is a confident reader and often reads a chapter - the chapters aren’t too long and the text isn’t too small so it is ideal for fitting in before bedtime. It is also littered with brilliant Tony Ross illustrations which also help to break the text up and keep them engaged with the story. The book is set in Victorian London and centres around a homeless girl called Elsie; it brings the history of the time to life with some great humour and you Elsie’s character is very endearing, as is her relationship with the Ice Monster. We have laughed out loud at some of the humour, sometimes it has gone over the kids heads but they laugh at the more obvious humour and some of the sounds we have to make if we are reading it! Our book was delivered in perfect condition, he hardback is solidly made and it comes with a dust cover. I think a hardback version of a long story like this is a great idea for he kids as it makes it more durable when you are reading it over such a long period of time. Without any spoilers the lasting message from the book is that it doesn’t matter what material possessions you have to make it through life’s journey; Elsie has nothing but yet she has a massive heart that is capable of bringing people together and enabling them to achieve big things. We have thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend.
