AV21100-06 6-Feet PureAV S-Video Cable

It's a very solid and well built cable with a good thickness, my only gripe is that the casing around the head is too thick which prevents it being able to fit into a narrow s-video input areas. You need to make sure you have clearance around the end of the cable.

Works fine. I have a Dell 1505 and connect it to my Plasma because I don't have HDMI or DVI output. It sucks to go from HD to 800x600 VGA though so I only use it to play movies I've "borrowed" from torrents. Gotta get a upconverter.

I have used the El Cheapo S-video cable that came with my satellite box to connect to my TV. I thought it was OK and I used it for years. I never upgraded the wire over that time. I just got a new 52' HDTV that is 120hz a few weeks ago and I decided to upgrade my S-video cable for my satellite box to my TV. I ordered this Belkin PureAV cable and WOW what a difference it made. I had to swap the old and new cables out and test them a few times to make sure I wasn't just seeing things but the new S-video cable had much better color and brighter image compared to the old one. The shielding on the Belkin S-video cable is much thicker and the connections are gold plated. And most importantly of all it's 75-Ohm coaxial construction. Unless an S-video cable is 75-Ohm then don't buy it because you won't get a good image. Granted an s-video cable will never produce the same quality as an HDMI cable but for what it is I am 100% happy with it.

Fine. S-Video was never great, but this cable did improve the picture over my old cable, a little.

Bought these to replace the generic rca composite video cables I had been using previously on a Hi-8 deck to DVD-R deck setup. I knew the difference would be dramatic, but I was amazed and how crisp/sharp the image became and how much brighter the colors were. This seems like a good quality cable - it has some nice heft and thickness to it while also maintaining surprising flexibility. I trust that it will hold up well over time. We aren't talking about huge investments here, but definitely spring for this cable if you are trying to decide between it and something cheaper.

Cable shielding and overall quality is good; but have to be very careful with connecter pins. They bend too easily and are difficult to straighten and align again.

I bought this cable for my Sega Genesis which I've modded to run S-Video. S-Video is, obviously, a little outdated these days, but if you have a device and S-Video is the best it will output, this cable is fantastic! I currently have this hooked up to a CRT television with my Sega Genesis and it looks phenomenal, much better than standard composite! The build quality of this cable is fantastic, it's thick and sturdy and the low price makes it a no-brainer if you need an S-Video solution. Highly recommended!
